WOOOOOOOOOOT, first DVD in June for Mai Otome ^^
Now lets see how long the bugger takes to get over to the UK shores >< i swear if i have to import yet another anime series from america.... Also why would Bandai edit this series because of the fact it features 15 year old girls in a variety of sexual situations where nothing ever actually happens 0o? I can think of a lot of anime out there that goes a LOT further then Mai Otome could ever dream of from the likes of ADV, Bandai, etc... Edit: ooo i cant wait to hear the dubbed version, especially for the Otome specials |

Think they'll use the same voice actors? Well, even if they do, they don't have to use their My-HiME voices. Just like in the transition from Mai-HiME to Mai-Otome in Japan, the seiyuus changed accordingly to match their character, even though they've voiced them before.
However...weren't several of the My-HiME dubbed voices new to voice acting? So there's the large possibility of bringing in different voices for those that don't come back. Not saying that the dub was great. I only found the main female cast to do good jobs. Every male was terrible. Well, we'll just have to wait and see. |

I really hope they don't dub Otome in Canada. No offense to any Canadians in here, but I just feel like female Canadians voice actresses either don't sound mature enough or don't give their roles much emotion.

Think they'll use the same voices? If they do, everyone will have to change the way they portray their character. Mai and Mikoto are probably the only ones that don't really have to change. And maybe Shizuru too?

Well like most, I'm hoping the dub's better than HiME but either way I'm glad Bandai was able to license it. |

Well I'm rather new to the proffessional VA scene so I'm honestly not hoping for much. I've done amateur work for five years so hopefully that will help me with the upcoming audition. I'll probably end up getting walla for sure, and maybe a few extras. As for more major roles... assuming that the characters have the previous VA's as HiME I'd have to choose from the newer characters. I think my voice would be most suitable towards Ers or Irina, but playing Tomoe would be SO much fun. A bitch. Ahh yes.
I might also have a slight advantage since very very very few of the other VA's at Blue Water are anime knowledgable. I believe I'm the only one who wil know of the original voices for Otome. It depends what they're looking for. It'll still be a while, but you all are making me excited now ! |

You knew it was coming eventually, but I didn't expect the release to be so soon. I guess 'Zwei' will be considered once the series is done. Or sooner you never know.
I guess it will be fun reliving this one all over again. "Silly-tell-ya-what-my-grandma-said" and "I-wanna-be-an-otome" 'Arika', angry 'Mashiro', cool-assed 'Nao', and "angst-ridden-pappa-lovin'" 'Nina'. Hahahaha!!

Also, I'll tell you if auditions are going to be listed for the oldbies (Mai, Natsuki, Shizuru, etc) when I get there, so we know if they're keeping the same people or not. |
