Luxus being beaten by Natsu...pissed me off.

Natsu's already HAD those moves, he's just never used them. It's not like we get a spreadsheet of everyone's abilities and movelist at the start of the season. But like, What'shisface said in one of the earlier chapters, Natsu's flame is connected to his emotional state - the more angry, frustrated, or focused he gets, the more powerful his flame magic becomes. That and Luxus surely had to use up a ton of magical energy to activate Fairy Law like he did.

Yup, the same level of spell that defeated a guild master completely but still didnt manage to kill an already half-dead Fried who got busted up by Mirajane in awesome-mode. Don't know how the heck Fried survived that, even if FL wasn't on Makarov's level.

Not sure on this but it sounds like you expected Fried to have been taken out by FL. If thats so, its already been explained why no one was hurt.

If its another totally different reason, then just ignore my rambling

Best win of this arc, Evergreen's complete ownage of Erza, I loved that part!

If you really want to use a reference from Fate/stay nigh then use Gate of Babylone, Erza magic is more or less the same as Gilgamesh.

Hiro Mashima should stop giving the title of the next chapter (or find chapter title with less meaning) because most of the time you are able to see what is coming and that creates anti-climatic chapter like triple dragon or the chapter of this week.

Well, it's done. Luxus is excommunicated from FairyTail, but not on a sour note. Amusing to see Gazille and Natsu practicing their 'muffled' speak though.

well Luxus is gone for now, probably to pop up as an ally later... not handled too badly...
However i will say that the master's condition is a complete and total cop out... really, from getting emotional over him being on his death bed to him just being too old to really over exert himself...i always hate faux death set ups....

so here's to hoping that we'll start getting into the dragonslayers arc, with Wendy, and possibly even learn about Natsu's past and why the heck that spell affected him (and gazille)... anyone notice that even if it's just something simple, we know virtually nothing about how Natsu was raised?

I liked this week's release as well, Gazille and Luffy in bandages are hilarious
I'll agree with Slayer, having makarov in a worse state would have been better, BUT at least Luxus got the message, the guild is making progress...'s what I love the most in a good manga, progress ^_^

The only complaint I have ever had about Fariy Tail is Gerard... other than that I love reading it, and this weeks chapter was both a good and bad ending to the battle of fariy tail
1. Everyone goes back to normal imediately following the fighting in the streets???wtf
2. Luxus was thrown out, I am so glad mashima didn't have him stay, that would have been to childish (I also see Luxus as an enemy of the guild in the future )

This i can agree with... one thing i liked about the chapter where they take down the temple of thunder was how they pointed out that the members still had some serious resentment towards one another over all the fighting... frankly, only one day later i would kind of expect some of that same sentiment to remain lingering, instead of them going on like nothing ever happened

in fact, one of the themes of this chapter was that the close ties of the various faily tail members is what makes fairy tail so strong... if those negative thoughts remained then, even though none of the members died, Luxus would have still struck a mighty blow to fairy tail by shaking those close ties... it could work out as an interesting element in future chapters... like in the next big battle they end up loosing because they didn't overcome those lingering thoughts against eachother

Dun think it matters, I doubt the minor guild members are going to be touched for at least another 3 or 4 arcs.

I have to disagree with that one. FairyTail is a brawlers' paradise - they fight nearly everyday over anything. The only real resentment they showed was that they got beat by other members by surprise attacks. Like, "Hey you cheapshot! I'm gonna get you back," kinda way.
