Oh, I see.
Though I have an MP3 for music and anime can be watched on my (new) laptop or computer, so I don't really care much about those functions.

It's convenient for me if I want to watch anime on the go. With 2 memsticks, I have like more than several hours of anime to watch. No need to worry about music since I have an MP3 but I still download music through it and use the web browser and such. I can do the same thing through my PS3 except being 2-3x as fast.

i sincerely hope the kingdom hearts and shin megami tensei franchises will put me in awe to buy a 3DS and that it's not some stupid remake with improved graphics for the 3DS.

The Kingdom Hearts 3DS is a Remake (not surprising) so hope for the next but

"Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded" (2008) is a remake for the mobile's one . So if you didn't play KHR mobile version then you can follow it . Story will tell you how Sora entered Jiminy Cricket's diary .

I fear this is heading into the same direction as the wii: shinny gimmic that sound good on paper but really it's something not many developers know what to do with it. Until they proven otherwise, I am sticking with the old DS
You can argue all you want, but please do point out which other Wii game can count as "good games that is truly good" other than Zelda TP? none, exactly my point. Almost every game for the wii is average at best or dollar bin crap.

Metroid Prime Corruption (most awesome game on the Wii)
Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 (get highest ratings everywhere)
Monster Hunter Tri (good game as in truly good if you like slaying dragons)
Super Smash Brothers Brawl (very good beat'em up with awesome characters)
Harvest Moon Rune Frontier (farming + rpg + dating sim lol)
Fire Emblem (hardcore rpg tactics)

And we can allready add some promising titles:
Tales of Graces (Tales games are usually truly good)
Metroid Other M (anyone who doubts this will be epic is just trolling)
Zelda Skyward Sword (may be truly good, may be just decent)
Donky Kong Country Returns (looks fun, may be awesome)

+ A shitload of games out that can be truly good if you are fan of the genre (eg New Super Mario Bros for Jump and run, or Fragile Dreams for mystery adventure or Mario Cart for racing). Honestly there are more then enough good games for Wii. If you insist in raising your personal bar so high that no game passes as truly good, you will realize that PS3 and 360 dont have that much to offer anyway.

It always makes me laugh with sarcasm seeing a large number of people online always criticize the Wii for lack of (good) games, when there clearly are a number of good games, and not all of them are the same genre (shooter)

Maybe we should criticize the media for making too many articles about "casual" games and not enough of the other games on the Wii.

What pisses me off the most is that people like that are the reason awesome games like Punch-Out, Muramasa, A Boy and His Blob, and Excite Bots don't sell (also , if the people whining about no games didn't even look at Sin and Punishment 2, well, let me just say I hate you). As for 3DS support, let's be honest here. Nintendo is coming off of the best-selling handheld of all time, with incredible amounts of mindshare with both consumers and developers. They've pretty much been on top of the portable market ever since they created it. They've shown they could beat a strong competitor in that market. The announced list of developers working with the 3DS is already a whole lot better than when the DS was announced. And yet we actually have people who think "No one's gonna make games for this!" Seriously?

No it is not. Like most of the rendered videos/demos, it was only used for demonstration purposes. You can read more over on siliconera.
Basically what happened was, is that most devs just used some assets from older titles and made fast demo to demonstrate their intent to develop for the 3DS. So what we are seeing at the moment isn't what is going to be released, except maybe for Kid Icarus uprising.
