It's a few days late, but happy birthday to the site. I didn't ever think that I'd be using this site for so long. It has come to represent something special to me with time, and I hope to be able to still log in even 20 years from now.

Because my understanding and knowledge of anime has expanded and continues to expand because of this site. Because I have discovered more good series to watch and read. Because there are good people here who make excellent conversation. Because I don't have to sift through pages of spam.

It was born around the same time; perhaps a few days later after the site proper launched. It wasn't split off into its own separate Forum for a few months, and it was switched to vBulletin in November 2003, which is when it really became what most of us recognize today.
