I found the dub pretty good. I still watch both though, so I can hear the Japanese voices

Not sure if I can do this, but here's a 15 second preview of a special DVD for the movie, theme song and all.

omg i hope it's not a april fool's joke, if it is then the japanese have a really bad sense of humour toying with the emotions of shana fans...

... that's too big an announcement to be some form of April Foolery. And it certainly lacks the outrageous qualities normally associated with April Fool's jokes. Either way, I won't believe it until that page stays there for a week or so, just in case.

well, I'm hoping for the best... Novel has progressed alot for shana to have a 2nd season. Now we just need to see if shana ends with a Happy note or with tragic.

Today is Media Works' Dengeki Bunko Haru no Saiten event day, so it would be natural to announce the Shana sequel.

Although the Japanese are aware of April Fools Day, the sheer magnitude of an announcement such as an anime launch would draw too much attention to be taken back as a joke, as it would hinder corporate credibility, therefore I construe it to be genuine.

Edit:
This looks like a Shana bag, probably distributed at the event.

Edit 2:
The production blog on the official site confirms the announcement.

Eh...about time I got around to making an FE stat sheet for Shana...

Some notes:

1. "Nietono no Shana" was too long to fit using the correct font. >_<
2. The icon for "Urusai!" is the same one for the Silence staff in FE, which coincidentally comes with 3 uses.

Some one posted this on 4chan.

http://blog.livedoor.jp/akibabot/archives/50799575.html

Apparently it's not a April fools joke.

edit: On another note, I really want that big cut out of Shana and the really big melon pan.

Shana 2nd Season looks more and more offical now. It must be a good year as a Rie fan, with Hayate in Spring, ZnT in Summer and then Shana in Fall.

I refuse to believe this unless it stays up past tomorrow.

Otherwise I'm fully expecting a "The second season was a joke, but please do watch the movie coming out this April!"

Question re: Yuji's siblings?

This is going to seem completely random: I was looking up Japanese names the other day and found out that "Yuji" means something like "courageous second son." Therefore Yuji must have an older brother... (who might have died as a child or something, etc.) unless his parents just *really* liked the name. Whatever, for those who have read the Shana novels, I'm just wondering if this comes up at any point.

re: April Fool's/2nd season
Might be for real, since AFAIK for the most part the Japanese don't go for April Fool's pranks, although Type-Moon did a bogus "Neko-Arc Anime" announcement page last year or the year before.

Nope Yuji doesn't have a older brother, the meaning of the name is probably a coincidence, or could just symbolic considering he is a

Spoiler:

Don't know just my speculation but he definitely doesn't have a brother or none we know of so far.
