Already edited my post. Thank you. OnTopic So the Elrics head their way back where the series started, Lior. Do Scar has lost it, his sanity? I mean he's picked up Lior as sacrifice for transmutation to produce the Philosopher's Stone. Finally, Pride will be hinted in this episode. It was about time. Speaking of spoon's, I couldn't seem to find on last week, didn't have any soup last week.
This episode was great, it may have deviated a lot from the manga but the anime is still amazing. That fight with scar and kimlee definitly looks like a flashback. At the end of 39 whan scar see's Ed, he obviously isn't trying to hide him self and Ed to see him, I wonder why. He has to have figured out why Ed would be there. |

Already finished watching episode 39.
The oddities 1. Under his disguise, Ed looks exactly like a brown-haired with golden eyes "Wrath". 2. The translation arose a little doubt. When Gluttony referred to Pride, the translation meant that Pride is a "she" (a female). Since Pride has not yet made appearance in the anime, how could the translators be sure that Pride is a female and not a male? Since I do not know much about spoken Japanese, I can't tell if Gluttony meant to Pride by a female or male pronoun. The comedy 1. At the diner, Al lifted his head and was about to toss a bread inside his body (where Martel was hiding). 1st Lieutenant, Hawkeye, cuts him in that it's not necessary for him to pretend, and just when Martel was about to take the bread, Al quickly withdraws it. Martel enfuriated and cursed Hawkeye to kill her. That was priceless!!! 2. When Martel and the brothers arrived at the Ishvarite ruins. She remarked that since she's chimera her real age is enough to be their older sister, and Ed cuts in to say "Obaa-s....", and Martel instantly threw a bull's eye boot right into Ed's face. Now the point Spoiler:

Gluttony: Pride ga itte da yo, ishibaru no...(Pride was saying, that the Ishbal..)
Lust: Ishibaru no shinjutsu wo shitta mono ga korosu.(Kill all of those who know of Ishbal's Secret" That's what they basically said, so they didn't really refer to pride other than Gluttony calling its name. Whether or not its a female or male we don't know but the translator has probably seen the manga to know who it is, however, since the anime already deteriated (sp? =/) from the manga, you never know. They might change it to a guy, heh. 1 more week till double episode release with new OP/ED...woohoo Last edited by moofs; 2004-07-18 at 22:40. |

Post ep-40...
Spoiler:
What was Tucker doing to the alchemists' clocks? They're already meant to be transmutation amplifiers, so is he increasing/renewing/sabotaging their power? And everything we've seen in FMA so far seems to indicate that transmutation amplifiers work via human souls... does this mean the clocks have a couple of lives each sacrificed onto them? (only a couple, since the uber-amplifying proto-PSs need LOTS of lives by all accounts.) |
