Okay so with the translations out, why do I get the feeling (given the context of some novel info revealed many scores of pages ago) that Rory's undergoing the demideific version of a ticking biological clock? Especially when one considers her advanced age, as well as the fact that, as she reveals, when she fully ascends she loses any kind of bodily desire.

About the battle? Absolute carnage. The foreign SP forces totally underestimated the advantage that playing at home brings, expecting to fight some rookie police officers or something (well, the mission was to "secure certain non military personal on holidays", but that is still too careless.

Itami is his surname (family name), while Youji is his first name. Like most military characters in the series, he is generally addressed by his surname.

FYI, Japanese name order is such that the family name comes before the first name, hence Itami Youji or 伊丹耀司.
