well I thought he/she was also a boy, but because of curiosity I search and it said the gender is female, but maybe that was wrong, anyway I don't care about the gender he/she still look adorable and so far it look like he/she will be a good character.

I was going over bleach earlier this arc forgot all about Shunsui's badassery: Spoiler:
His lines were hilarious on pg.20 and pretty epic on pg.21.

I wonder if the monk was the very first shinigami. From the way he talks it sounds like even Yama-ji would have been a subordinate (it was mentioned earlier the only reason Yama-ji wasn't in the zero squad was because they couldn't replace him as CC)

As for him meeting Yhwach back when he looked like who we thought was Zangetsu, I'd say definitely. Nimaiya(sunglasses-wearing swordmaster) definitely remembered him, it seems Ichibei does as well. Be interesting to see how the feud between the Shinigami and the Quncies actually began, we have the Shinigami's side of the story, but not the other side. Be interesting to see how it began, not to mention how it'll all end. Definitely looking forward to it. |

now it feels really weird to me that Quincy is really a group of "mutated human", perhaps they ARE a species that is equivalent to Shinigami but in a different forms, and the war 1000 years ago stemmed from which fraction would come to rule Soul Society.
Oh well, I sure don't keep my hope up for a clear explanation from Kubo now

Nothing's ever been stated, though I'm guessing he wanted to finish Yhwach off, and Yamamoto said no, thus the King survived that fateful day. Mayuri told Yamamoto the whole Wandenreich resurgence was his fault for letting Yhwach live, maybe that has something to do with it. Just a guess, mind you.

Take your pick. The man is a walking crime against what passes for nature in the Bleachverse. He probably does about five or six things an hour that would put him away for life in a civilized society.

right, but SS isn't civilized. they began as a murderous band and continue doing weird/immoral stuff to date. when mayuri was released no one seemed to care much and nobody wants to put him back behind bars either. what's different in the past and now? it doesn't make much sense but maybe im missing something

Mayuri just wanted to do his crazy experiments on the Quincies. Maybe they were so morbid (like the on he did on Uryuu's gramps) that the C46's verdict was he should be put behind bars.

I kind of laughed that the 2 of em are literally overpowering one another. One does a technique, the other counters with their brute strength. Back and forth.
it was an ok chapter, I guess.
