Ugh.... I wanted episode 3000 for myself but I mistimed my post I guess.

In any case, it's going to be sad to see this show go, but all good things must come to an end I guess.

Can't say I feel any different. I would have loved to see this show go another 50 episodes but it's exactly as you said, all good things must come to an end

Second season anyone?

You mean post #3000?

In any case, Cross Game has been a great series and I hope the finale won't disappoint. I hate the fact that the series has so many things going on offstage but I also love that, it leaves room for imagination. Untold things are sweeter than declared ones.

Joining the effort. Still downloading the episode, but... feeling nostalgic already.

It's just one mere step towards our goal of world domination.

[edit]

Just realised that if Proto posts next then our sigs would be going step-wise. It would be our Attack Pattern Alpha.

So I went ahead and watched the preview anyway. Goddamn that's such a spoilerific episode title and final scene. I agree with everyone else that you will not want to watch it if you savor your sanity.

And dammit first my trip is off now it's on again. Here's to praying that someone manages to sub it by 12 noon Hong Kong time (+8 GMT) because my flight leaves 3 hours later, or else I'll be in on vacation unable to enjoy myself.

And I'll say it again: IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY, DO NOT WATCH THE PREVIEW.

Well... although I would prefer a 51 episode as an epilogue of sorts, I think Adachi is just one of those authors who tends to believe that there isn't really "an ending" so he has no trouble leaving loose threads open, because he thinks that's more how life really is.

And of course that is correct, but fiction tends to be better with a strong conclusion. Adachi however has such excellent characters and stories that I think they are great even if his endings tend to be very open ended.

As for the show, I'm not sure what people are freaking out about in the spoiler, but I will say that I'm starting to get Downer Ending vibes. I'm no longer sure if Kou and Company will actually win.

No no, clearly Cross Game is so good they were hoping for that extra 2950 episodes to be announced of which the final episode would be dedicated to themselves lol

I'm going to agree with everyone that I felt those two scenes weren't really up to the level that we've really been seeing throughout the rest of the series.

Hopefully we'll see them turn it around in the next episode. It's been such a well done series, I'd hate to see it exit with a meh ending.

Remember that the second part of the sig/post strategy is going to the suggestions board and recommend Cross Game as much as you can.

This episode was not as good as the last but still great viewing, a bit different from the manga but still I found it to be entertaining. Hope they catch the tenseness of the final inning in the next episode.

I love seeing my sig and avatar on every post... LOL!

I can't see how anyone skipped the preview - you're made of sterner stuff than me. And in reality, I don't think it's all that spoilerish - more like teaserish. Still torture, but in a more acceptable way.

I'd like you to have the feeling like when I read the final chapter of Cross game without any clue.

Seconded. Just do it.

Honestly, for me it raised more questions than it answered. Yes, you will see images you might have preferred not to see till next week - but they could be interpreted differently depending on what your expectations might be.

Watched the preview...

Hmmmm...

I could have done without seeing the last scene shown, though it's hardly a spoiler when i expected something like that to happen in the last episode. Along with pretty much everything the preview shown. Still wow that's quite the spoiler to show in a preview, especially when this show has been pretty decent with not showing much spoiler material in the previews.
