Originally, I admired Sarkozy's firm stance on how to deal with China over Tibet but as soon as he ate his words back during the Olympics, I realized that the guy isn't so tough afterall. Actually, I am somewhat disappointed.. Nonetheless, I think France is a great country in terms of tourism.

Oh, I really hate Sarkozy, he started the age of Showman-presidents, what the hell does it matter me if he gets divorced or marries with a model? What I want to see ina president is a good leader not a TV monkey.
Really, thanks to him presidents in Europe are becoming into still-more-retarded-people -.- |

I have to say than betweem Sarkozy and the other quandidate ( I don'T remember her full name) at the last election, Ia m not sure than the french had made the worse decision. Like everywhere else they voted , not for the best quandidate , but for the less worse.

Still, it does sound like stuff he'd say. Though I have to say, the one about Zapatero sounds taken out of context like hell. I don't think he meant Zapatero's stupid, but answered an accusation of such with something like "Stupid or not, he got elected". Which would be consistent with what he said about democracy. Not that that was exactly glorious either. :\ Some of the other stuff was true, more or less, but still - not the sort of things one should say. For all the accusations of dishonesty he receives, I wish he was a little less honest. Edit: about the Zapatero thing, because it bugs me, I'd like to give a bit of context. It sounds like a defense of himself as much of anything, too. He's been accused of being, well, uneducated. He hasn't gone to the same school as a lot of high level politicians (the National School of Administration), and I think he's got some kind of complex over it. He's certainly shown some hostility toward that school and its alumni. Chirac was an intellectual who cultivated a rural image. But that's all it was - an affectation. Sarkozy, I think, actually has the temperament of a street tough. (Not sure why. He isn't exactly the son of a factory worker.) The fact he lacks the kind of culture and poise the French expect of their president is often thrown around. I can totally see him saying "Oh yeah? Well, I still got elected, asshole." in response. I suppose this is slightly on topic:
Sarkozy's UMP party is trying to pass a law which would cut off the internet access of people who engage in illegal file sharing. The Socialists defeated the law by a surprise showing in parliament, but it may still pass. http://www.economist.com/business/di...ry_id=13496729 |

Do you guys know what his surname means by the way?
Spoiler for about his name:
------ OK I admit it now, he is part of Hungary's attempt at World-domination, therefore please be a bit more tolerant, and cut him some slack. Last edited by izmosmolnar; 2009-04-23 at 03:20. Reason: important spoiler tag |

I am worried about what he intend to do with our internet. He just appears to me as a control freak. At first I did not care so much that he won the 2007 presidency. I mean, we had to vote between mediocre, mediocre and another kind of mediocre. But since the DAVDSI and the Hadopi laws he tries to get accepted by force, he seriously start to creep me out.

I find Sarkozy to be more of a comedian than a politician. His actions towards China is somewhat hilarious. First, he acts tough. Then, he eats his words soon after. As soon as China pressures him, the guy takes a firm stance showing how hawkish he can be. However, when people start complaining about economic ties, Sarkozy ran all the way to China to apologize. Huh? Is he a clown?? Is this a joke???
If he had went all the way hawkish, I would have admired him but.. His actions indicate that Sarkozy is quite an indecisive leader. Going back and forth on a single clear issue questions his ability to lead. In fact, sometimes it makes me wonder if Sarkozy is even taking his job as the French president seriously or not. He seems to be having a lot of fun.. *shakes head, walks away* |

Apparently it was not that true that he said that just like that. Jack Lang apologized about what Ségolčne Royal said (oh the irony), because you can't say something like what she said based on rumors.
