I know I know, still it came as a bit of a shock to me. I guess that if there is more then thirty chapters out then there is enough to do it. I guess we'll be getting scans sooner if this thing becomes popular over here though.

Based on my online dictionary, it probably is a made-up word meaning "stray god." That would fit the story.
This show starts on Sunday, and to get ready I've prepared a characters/seiyuus page with pics of nine main characters and their seiyuus, and a bit of info about each seiyuu. Great cast here.

No, not at all. "rural/agricultural/farm" is the main meaning (野 is "field").
"Stray" is inferred from that main meaning: "something you often see out in the fields". I think "bumpkin god" could very well be the intended meaning. From what I saw from the preview, he's a very rough character, behaving like a bumpkin of sorts. "Stray" generally isn't applied to persons. In that case, you'd rather have something like 旅烏 (tabigarazu) meaning "vagabond", or even 瘋癲 (fuuten), a vagabond that's a bit insane (which would also fit for him, from the looks of it). |

That aside, there's no official kanji name for Noragami since it's in katakana so it's just a matter of interpretation. And Shadow does have a point, there are a few characters you could probably apply the title to but the most obvious one is(are) our main character(s).

Very solid first episode. Iki's unexpected reaction to Yato in the hospital, as well as her many other animated reactions, instantly made me love her. Good to hear more from Maaya Uchida (Rea from Sankarea still being her best role so far). Hiroshi fits Yato like a glove. I hope the animation quality keeps up like this too.

yea, the voice actor of Yato really carrying it right now.
Premise is interesting enough for me to keep watching an episode or two. Hiyori is a weird girl, at first she seems like a pretty grounded girl. But seems she has a lot of weird character quirks and over-reacts a lot. The beginning prologue was kind of confusing. Was that girl in the classroom have nothing to do with anything? And it was just a way to introduce our stray god and the parting of his weapon?
