I recently reinstalled the CCCP after a hard drive failure but now no subs will play on any fansubs with the mkv. file extension (I haven't tried any other file types) did I do something wrong when I installed it?

Did you install everything that was included on CCCP? Does the video play without the subs? Do you have vobsub on?

Try in the CCCP Settings applet:

- Reset All Settings -> Apply
then:
- Re-Register Filters -> Apply

this is probably not needed, but try it twice

the reregistering of filters I think can help
