There are 3 Classes... No one even hinted at 2 classes, what he hinted at was revealing during events.

It's going to be Red Mage, Samurai/Blue Mage and Dancer. I say Bluemage/Samurai because Blue Mage works better with the expansion's new land but then again Red Mage is not very expansion fitting. So it's 50/50

But those are the only possible classes. Red Mage and Samurai were event hinted at by Yoshi's NPC himself TOGETHER. So my bet is on Samurai Tank, which makes more sense than a BLU Tank. Samurai's were meant to be a Parry/DPS Tank in FFXI but was changed to Pure DPS thanks to SATA.

Trust me, I'm a FFXI Vet and played FFXIV since release.

I read somewhere that they may have confirmed that there was only 2 new jobs this expansion. I think it was on twitter

If they're going to make SAM a parry tank then they better actually do something about fixing parry in general.

pretty sure it will be a dps since there isn't really enough to differentiate it with dark knight both being 2 handed sword wielders. Plus Yoshida ince made a statement in an interview that said "Would it be a tank? But that doesn’t seem to make sense because Samurai seems to be more of a DPS". Then he suggested something like Shogun for tank.

In that case, SAM and SHO is gonna be similar to SCH and SMN in terms of job mechanic where one can switch to either dps/tank. But I do wonder how the parry tank would work out. Maybe they'll introduce a parry system where you can parry an attack on time and then mitigate or negate an incoming damage all together... Kinda broken, but whatever.

It was a tweet that was deleted and replaced with a tweet that didn't mention any specific number. Apparently they still don't want to officially state the number of jobs.

I really doubt this is going to happen, as Yoshida seem to have abandoned the class system entirely. Red Mage was already confirmed to be just like AST, DRK and MCH, a job without a class.

I really wish they would consider adding THF as an alternative to NIN based on the ROG class. It's very sad that we miss one of the six historical classes of Final Fantasy, especially now that we are finally getting Red Mage. However there's very little chances of that ever happening...

So how exactly will Diadem be interesting and relevant again? Except for the obvious Diadem only mats needed for the new crafting stuff (LOL glowing tools?) they really need to shake the concept up.

Dun Scaith looks awesome. I mean the 3.0 24 mans look great but this looks like an actual city with FF6 inspired fights (I'm sure that's Deathgaze in the airship deck fight).

From what I read the gold saucer version won't be dyeable, and I haven't heard anything about mounts being obtainable with MGP.

Sucks to be a Tank grinding anima 270 right now. Fastest way to do it is A1S and modt RFs only llet a single tank in despite the fact that with most grinders at 250+ A1S is roflstomp easy.

And not only that, Zurvan Ex now is done mainly with a single tank, but I guess it's WAR mainly that gets the short end of the stick there, since they can't use their invincibility to survive the Demonic Claw mechanic.

When you add to that the new tower that only has 3 tanks slots as usual, this truly is the DPS patch.

Depends... doing it early in the week gives tanks a chance... after that is... yeah...

For the a1s, start a PF yourself since the healers will also have this problem.

Completed my i270 PLD Anima. The fiery blue glow that leaves a trail of embers as you move and swing is awesome.

OTOH, I want Scathach to step on my face.

Samurai confirmed as the second new job. Turns out it's a DPS as well.~

Also surprisingly we'll not only be going to Ala Mhigo but the entire continent of Orthard is included in the expansion as well. I sure didn't expect that.
