Rokujouma no Shinryakusha!?

Images

Original creator (light novel): Takehaya
Original illustrator: Poko
Plot summary: The "apartment comedy" centers around Kōtarō Satomi, a boy who started to live by himself to attend a high school. He fortunately discovered a very cheap, tiny (six-mat or rokujyōma) room for 5,000 yen (about US$50) a month, and began his new life there. However, when he moved into that room "1X6" in the Korona complex, some unexpected "roommates" began appearing one by one, such as the female ghost, a magical girl, an underground dweller, a space alien and her attendant. Kōtarō's bizarre communal life has begun, and "this six-mat room is a battlefield!?"

Note: Takehaya launched the light novel series with illustrations by Poco in 2009, and Hobby Japan published the 14th volume last August. Tomosane Ariike started a manga adaptation on Hobby Japan's Comic Dangan website last December. The light novels already inspired an original promotional movie with some animated footage by director Shinichi Watanabe and SILVER LINK in 2010.

The official website for the light novel series has been teasing a "special project." AnimeJapan 2014 will host a special event for the television anime on its Blue Stage in Tokyo Big Sight on March 23 at 1:40 p.m.

The anime's voice cast includes Yūichi Nakamura, Tatsuhisa Suzuki, Aoi Yūki, Ayana Taketatsu, Eri Suzuki, Harumasa Ōmori, Masumi Tazawa, and Maria Naganawa. Yūki and Taketatsu's musical unit Petit milady is contributing their third single as the anime's ending theme song.

Premise is good, I watched the PV promoting the source material long ago but while the animation was fantastic back then (it's by Silver Link so who knows?), it remains a little outdated now. So I'm glad the visuals looked better though a little derivative of the novel designs, let's see who will hold a candle when it comes out!

Looks like Silver Link is once again doing two shows at the same time this summer.

Hopefully this doesn't cause any quality problems with 2wei.

Now that I look more closely. Doesn't this apartment look like the one Hataraku?

Might as well be like it. To me, it looked more like a low-budget version of Happy House apartment from Nanana's Buried Treasure due to the inclusion of a sexy landlady managing the dormitory.

Umm... to be honest I dunno. Ep 1 was crazy and over the top, but I kinda did not know what to do with it, especially since I did not find it all that funny.

Maybe there is a bigger plot somehow, so I guess I will watch the next ep, but... well, who knows. Guess it kinda fell flat for me. :\

That was one entertaining start for an anime like this. Now the first episode's over, there are two routes this series could generally take: the positive route or the negative route. As long as the comedy doesn't go stale or have problems that plague itstelf (which I cannot describe at the top of my head), this could be a decent show.

Going into this anime, I was partly surprised that it was going in a normal pace until raising up the speed in the second half. For me, the pacing quality for this episode was adequate. I see concepts that could be expanded on in later episodes, and there were some likable characters such as Koutarou who is at least a competent main character.

Right now this is a show that I have a wavering feeling about and the following episodes should give me a clear judgement.

Okay, I guess. Somewhat entertaining. Oonuma Shin may be continuing his track record of producing shows that look good but don't quite do it for me. I'll be back for episode two, in any case.

And here is a characters/seiyuus page for this show, with pics of the main characters and their seiyuus. Interesting cast largely made up of enjoyable young and/or lesser-known female voices, with Nakamura Yuuichi as the lead.

That was pretty something. I think I'll stick around. And maybe a bit of popcorn for night viewing.

This is a weird and interesting one. The plot and the characters are a little wacky, but wackiness can be a good substance for a series like this if done correctly. We've got a cute but deadly landlady, a ghost, a woman from the underground, a "Mahou Shoujo", and a princess from some intergalactic planet or spaceship etc.

I'm going to keep a close eye on this series, and despite the setting I had a blast watching the first episode. Can't wait to see where this goes. Wow. He has interesting roommates that would make even Haruhi Suzumiya proud or will subconsciously distort the order of the world in jealously.

Wow, this was generic as hell, all of the girls are pretty much what you expect them to be (ex. The frail senpai that reads books alone in the club room, the tsundere ghost girl, the overly violent landlady, the token blond loli, the incompetent mahou shoujo, the big breasted miko-the only one i really liked-, etc.) Also was i the only one who noticed they all have the same hair antenna?

I didn't laugh at any of the jokes (although when the underground miko stated that she was going to take over the world I did find it funny), gotta say I don't know how I feel about this one, I'll follow it but I won't expect anything from it.

First episode reminds me of last season's Nanana, makes me wonder what's next. Will he be able to make them all his lovers?

Will be watching this for the underground miko, Kiriha.

Did a quick google and the Knitting Society girl is suspicious.
