Thank you again witch-hunt! I just finished reading, and wow... what an episode so far... I'm happy at the spot it ended though. It seems to answer sooo many questions already, and now I need some time to digest what I just read.

I'm not downloading the 50% patch but I am curious how many chapters it includes.

If anybody knows that would be a great help.

8 chapters excluding the first 4 from the earlier patch. So overall 12.

To confirm, yes, the download version of EP7 is now up and running.

Also, three more countries have been opened up. Umineko can now be downloaded from Italy, France, and Norway, as well as the countries previously mentioned. If anyone from these countries has any trouble accessing the download, please let us know.

This patch has the chapter unlock function in it right? I'm just going to start from where I left off during my untranslated run (almost 50% through by my first estimate) so I don't intend to play through the first half again.

...I would like all of you to actually use spoiler tags -properly- as in: putting a damn title for them, otherwise "spoiler" just doesn't cut it at all...
Have edited the one used already...

I am having a really hard time download episode 7 from Hobibox. It froze once last night and I had to restart the download. Then I left it d/ling last night while I slept but when I woke up it had frozen again. I'll try again today while I'm at work.

I was going to wait until the 100% patch came out, but I have an unexpected eight days off from work now. So I might as well start it while I have the time!

That Hobibox download is largeer than I realized. I guess it makes sense though. I can't wait until it finishes~.

I am just wondering in the current Ep7 translation patch there is this (I put in spoiler to be sure) and I am not sure if this was intended:
Spoiler for Ep7-"Mistranslation" (Not really "translation" but...) ?:

The <> phrases are in katakana in the previous stories, but guess too much engrish is too much, so another marking was needed, because maybe some couldn't always understand even the katakana english.
They used 「」 for regular Japanese speech, 『』 for when it was supposed to be English speech and "" for when it was Italian speech, if I remember correctly.

But it was all really in Japanese, it was just a marking system to differentiate them.

I'm more concerned about the extraordinary tackiness of using a comma as punctuation after an ellipsis, but it's faithful "translation." Plus, if I complained every time Ryukishi excessively misused ellipses I'd have a heart attack.

But seriously, what does a comma after an ellpisis even mean? "Pause, then pause slightly longer?"

Actually, we stopped using that pattern after EP5, though it looks like 1 or 2 somehow made it through to EP6. If we ever have time to re-edit older episodes, that's one of the things that's going to go.
