*sigh* I wonder whether day time Rikuo is aware of what his night time counterpart does? seems the day and night fusion is tossed out the window again. Night time version shines here.

daytime Rikuo only appear on daytime, the fusion form only appear in dawn. The current place they're fighting is the second seal, which hasn't been resealed yet and cause it to be constantly in darkness

Didn't Rikuo say that he's aware of what he does in the night? I'm pretty sure he explains this bit fairly early on. Just have to find it...which is the hard part.

I was under the impression that it wasn't a split personality at all but Rikuo just acted differently during night and day (meaning he was totally aware of what he was doing, he just denied it early on). But I'm not 100% sure, the manga has suggested that and the opposite multiple times each.

ok, so he's aware..... (thanks for looking it up BTW) I still can't see how he'd act this way if this is not split personality. Day Rikuo is much reserve and cautious than Night Rikuo. I hope we get to see Day Rikuo's reaction soon!

I'm not sure where to post this, as it is mainly a question about the manga, but I thought of it because of watching the anime.

In the manga, does Rikuo ever lie except through misdirection?

I think that Rikuo, particularly Day Rikuo strangely enough, conforms to alot of the attributes of a trickster god, so does grandpa for that matter, and at least in my mind gods don't lie except through omission or misdirection.

What made me think of this, was that it bothered me just a little bit in the anime when Rikuo outright agrees with Kana that Youkai don't exist. Has Rikuo ever lied in the manga?

The only questionable time I can think of was when he said he was human to Yura (and he seemed to need to truly belive that he conformed to Yura's definition of "human" before he said yes.)

I think the 'human' Rikuo can lie (and he certainly keeps his youkai heritage secret early on), but whatever sense of honor or trickery that his 'night' form has doesn't allow him to when he's in that form.

And Tsurara~ I don't normally ship pairings, but she's so cute, and she's certainly been in the spotlight much more than the other two girls, Yura and Kana.

Hopefully, the anime gains popularity and makes Nurarihyon a bit more relevant overseas.

Just realized that the scanlations had caught up and I'm a happy fangirl now. But geeze, at the rate that Rikuo's losing clothing he's gonna be naked by the end of the fight.

Also, the manga-ka sure didn't forget her female fans. When I saw the yaoi subtext, I knew for sure that was intentional. >__<

I don't particularly like Itaku, but the author seems to want to portray them as some kind of rivals. So naturally, them 'joining' would be really strong.
