there were lots of good lines for sure, but my favs are definitely the ones that reveal the characters' common motive: fighting boredom. i like the picture of life as some sort of chessgame.
"He who moves first always wins." - L "You can't ever win if you're always on the defensive, to win you have to attack!" - Light "Kira is childish and he hates losing... I'm also childish and hate losing." - L and most of all: L do you know / gods of death / love apples love how Light and L are mocking each other in the very beginning, how they're actually having fun doing all this. |

Probably one of the most intense ones:
Light: Death sentence..? ... Interesting ... Bring it on ... Ryuk: Both got to chase the other one down without knowing either his face or his name, the one that gets discovered first will die. It's a trap!!!" said by Light Rem: "Humans truly are... such ugly creatures" Light thinking to himself after Misa dimwittedly shows up while L and Light are at the school bench... "I've never in my life wanted to punch a girl like I want to right now..." xD L's thoughts after the tennis match: "I knew you would want to win". 5 Tennis match quotes: "This is just a simple tennis match, it's not enough to determine if he might be Kira...but Kira hates to lose." - L "L is definitely more competent than we are, as we speak, he is out there risking his life to solve this case." [scene cuts to Light and L playing tennis] - Soichuro "He who moves first always wins." - L "You can't ever win if you're always on the defensive, to win you have to attack!" - Light "Relax Yagami, Kira hates to lose, but you don't have to be Kira to want to win a tennis match." - L Misa: RAAAAAAAIIIIIITOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~ Ryuk: Apples form the human world are "Juicy". L to Matsuda, Rules are made by a God, You will be defeated by my rules, and for the sins of offending the God of the New world, you will die.- Yagami Light Light: Answer me! Ryuk: I didn't choose you .....You thought i chose you? Why? because you're smart or something? Don't flatter yourself Light: Then i can build a world inhabited only by those people I decide are good! Ryuk: You do something like that, the only one left with a bad personality wil be you Light: then why did you drop it?[...] Ryuk: Why did i drop it? Because I was bored. Light: Yes!finally America will be ruled by Kira Matt: You can't possibly fire at... 'If I'm dead in the near time then your son is Kira' (said by L to Souichirou Yagami) "L did you know gods of death love apples?" Light- "Looks like Kira is taunting you" L- "Kira is childish and hates to lose" Matsuda- "How do you know that?" L- Because I'm childish and hate to lose" L:"But, before this conversation goes any further, there is something I must tell you." Light:"What's that?" L:"I suspect that you, Light Yagami, are in-fact, Kira. Now, if you still want to ask me something, then please go ahead." (L says it all casual. x]) Ryuk:"I guess apples are out of the question" (when Light is in solitary confinement in episode 16.) Are mainly posted already bit there all so epic
