And since comparing relatively good work to bad work in order to justify its loose ends is not morally right, I will back it up with a theory of my own; since there were two people involved, the magic split between them and they shared the damage, with mister J taking the brunt of it since he stayed in longer than Erza.

Thats possible but since Lucy was on a boat heading away from the tower/R-System and out of mana, she'd have to have summoned herself.

I currently choose to believe that Jellal resurrected himself, using himself as the sacrifice to use up the tower's energy. Damage to the tower accounting for why it didn't work properly

I wonder why there is not more discussion about Virgo coming out and rescuing Natsu and Lucy without being summoned? Before, the only spirit willing to do that was Leo/Loki. Lucy was completely drained of her magical powers.

The other interesting aspect is that it was Virgo to come out and not another spirit. Why Virgo? Why not Loki? I guess she did summon all her able bodied spirits beforehand, so they could be exhausted already. Well, Cancer wasn't summon.

So does this mean that if the need arises, all her spirits would force their way through their gates without summoning and help her without her using any of her magic?
