Welcome to the Naruto Character of the Month Contest!!!!!!


It’s July and our theme is “Stealth Ninja/ Assassin Ninja”
This month's contest is based around Rogue or Rogue like characters. I wanted to come up with an idea quickly and I thought, why not bring out so of the stone cold killers of Naruto's universe. Well with that, I present the rules and regulations, and after reading, give it a good shot.



The winner of this contest will decide the theme for next months contest.




This thread is for submissions into the Character of the Month contest.
Contest Rules are as follows:
1. Every contest will have a theme. Each contestant must abide by the theme. Themes cannot be picked twice in a row.

2. Every Character Must be put in spoiler tags. This is to save space.

3. Contest submissions begin on the first day of each month. The entry period will last until two weeks from that date.

4. On the day after the submission date, a poll will open and it will last for one week. When the poll closes, the winner will be allowed to choose a theme for the next contest.

5. The next contest will not begin until the first of the month, when submissions are allowed once again.

6. Only one official submission per contestant. You may create as many character as you want, but you can only enter one official character. So please put “final or official entry in your post when your ready to turn in your finished character.

7. You are allowed to wait until the final day to turn in your entry. If you wish to keep your entry private until the day the poll opens you can request it in the submission thread or by private message to the organizer (me, Kyubi Jinchuuriki).


This months entry period officially starts July 1, 2010 and lasts until July 22, 2010. Entries will be gathered and put up for voting on July 23, 2010. Voting will end on the following Friday.***





Entries can either be private messaged or posted in the submission thread. The submission thread can also be used to post works in progress to gather feedback from other posters. You do not have to post your entries in the thread if you don't wish to (for those who want to be private about what they are working on), until the last day of submissions. The whole idea is to promote quality entries but it's not required to submit early if you are confident in your entry but want to keep your submission secret until the due date.I will periodically update the thread to keep track of the names of all contestants and list those names here. Those who wish to keep entries private until the due date should still inform me they are entering so I can keep track of who is competing.

Clothing: cloak (metallic grey), burgundy-tinted Black Ops vest and armaments with black body suit, grey pants.
Bio: Shinn has fine and cool features - his especially androgynouos appearance makes it exceptionally easier for his area of expertise - which is espionage and seduction. Despite his specialty, Shinn is relatively use to fighting. Under most of the outfits he adorn, he almost always hides several knives on his person (Depending on the circumstances he may have poisoned them prior.)

Shinn-ka hair is a brilliant red, usually in a medium-high ponytail. His bangs fall and cascade the side of his face (cheek length, but doesn't hamper his vision since he has styled them repeatedly to do so). His female persona on missions is Shin-ya.

Jutsu: Shinn is proficient in Taijutsu, able to fight anyone lower then a C+ rank without even trying. Albeit this comes at the cost of him always being on the defensive - since his taijutsu specialty is countermeasure and counterattack. Shinn can use other jutsu as well and has shown potential in illusion and water-based jutsu - but mostly remains taijutsu based since all his weaponry are either mid-range or short range.

His most unique jutsu is Water-Sonic - which is his most passive and most offensive jutsu. So long he is on water, he can propell himself forward at subsonic levels (either to close in or actually attack an enemy.) He can also form 'spikes' of water in any direction and able to propell them subsonic-level as well.

Regardless of his jutsu, he uses it sparring and only when his identity has completely been compromised.

History and personal:

His growing up in the Village of Mist, Shinn-ka has never felt loyalty for anyone (including himself). So after he reached as high as he was allowed to, he cut ties and officially became a criminial - or Hannin. Since during his academy days he took pride in being able to portrude erotic or affectionate undertones to himself. Which he still continues to do as a rogue.

Regardless of his oldest background, Shinn has a small modicum of chivalry. Due to his consecutive services for half-fee, companies outside villages have called him 'The charitable sellsword.'

Well, I finally got myself to do her background, although I admit that it's not that great.

She's only my second Genjutsu user, so I hope that I didn't mess something up. I was just sitting there, thinking about assassins, and I was wondering what a silent assassin would use. Et voila. Genjutsu.

So, here she is, and I hope ya like her.

Clothing: Kokuei has been seen wearing all assortment of clothing, from falsified chunnin vests from the great nations to civilian garb. Kokuei has to be a master of disguise in order to complete the assassination missions she is assigned regularly. But, she does not actually physically change clothes, instead relying on her skills with the henge no jutsu (transformation technique), to not only change the appearance of her clothes, but also her appearance in general, becoming anything that her specially-trained mind deems inconspicuous. The few times in which she wasn't in a transformed state, she would be wearing a dark brown floor-length duster, concealing her special daggers, over black clothe shirt and pants. She also wears standard ninja sandals for footwear. She would be quite beautiful, actually, if it wasn't for the dark aura you could feel her emanating, most likely from the many ninja she has been rumored to have killed.

Personality: She has a dark and malicious nature, but she is also loyal to a fault. She only does business within a select group of people, although these people normally give her high quotas to fill. She may even call off a contract in the middle of its execution, claiming that her instincts warned against further action. Thus, proving that she is a very instinctual person. But, so long as her instincts don't interrupt, she will finish the contract without fail, giving her the nickname 'The Selective Genius'.

Weapons/items: Two daggers with two blades each, one on each side of the hilt, and standard ninja equipment, including senbon and a disposal kit used in removal of certain secrets contained within the victim's body in which she was originally payed to obtain, such as kekkei genkai.

Fighting Style: Kokuei mostly relies on stealth killing, and tries to avoid straight-out fights. She will normally flee if faced with a face to face battle. When escape is impossible, she is skilled enough with her daggers and Genjutsu that the fight normally doesn't last long.

Specialties/Skills: Everyone in her ring of assassins knows the human body fairly well, Kokuei knows the human body so well that many would mistake her for a byakugan user. She actually has her own variant of the Hyuga Style Taijutsu. Although it's nowhere near as powerful, her variant uses the various points across the body to make her Genjutsu more effective. Disrupting the chakra flow farther down may still affect the brain, indirectly, but only if done right. If she had to, she might be able to use a technique similar to the 64 palms, but she hasn't had a need to, so far.

Description: This Genjutsu is a technique used by Kokuei. Kokuei will cause the area around the target to be enveloped by darkness. These grotesqueries will reach out and grab a hold of the target. They will then be thrown into the void to the mercy of a spectral dragon. The horrifying oni can even extend from the targets own body to attack them. All aimed at transfixing the victim with fear and shock while Kokuei herself slashes and kills the target.

Description: Magen • Narakumi no Jutsu is a Genjutsu technique that causes its target to see a horrifying vision. The ninja will use the serpent hand seal to cause a circle of leaves to spin and envelop the target and then fall away. Once cast the world will appear normal to the target until they see the illusion.

Description: Nehan Shouja no Jutsu is a Genjutsu technique that allows the caster to place a large body of people into a unconscious state. The target can avoid the spell by forming and using the dispel skill.

Description: This is a Genjutsu technique utilized by Kokuei. It can only be used effectively when Kokuei is completely covered in shadow. Using this Genjutsu, she will increase the shadow's concealing ability by making her body mimic the appearance of the shadows, essentially making herself invisible. If Kokuei leaves the shadows, she will appear as a shadow image of her normal self, also making this a technique which can just be used to scare the unknowing peers, on top of making it impossible for them to identify her.

Background: Kokuei was born somewhere along the border between the land of fire and the land of wind. She spent the beginning of her life traveling with a caravan, and had two loving parents. She also had a few friends that she played with, and altogether she was happy.

Then, when Kokuei was only 6, an assassin killed her parents along with the rest of the caravan for some debt that they had never payed. This assassin took pity on the child, and, rather than killing her, took her to the headquarters of the ring of assassins he worked for, who were similar to ninja but who only took up assassination missions. She grew up there, learning the art of killing. She also learned Genjutsu and tried to learn Ninjutsu, but she soon found out that she had no talent for it. Instead, she spent her time mastering the Genjutsu she already knew, and using that to create new techniques.

When she reached the age of 16, she was allowed to start taking contracts. She started off easy, but gradually worked her way up to the assassins equivalent of A-rank missions, strong ninja or high-up political figures that needed to be disposed of. She's already carried out over 100 of this type of contract in the six years since she began.

Over these six years, she has, unbelievably, made quite a few friends. They're all pretty shady characters and she met most of them through contracts, but they're still friends. She has gotten into the habit of only taking up contracts with her friends or friends of her friends.

Oh, and what of that assassin that saved Kokuei when she was 6 and put her on this path? Kokuei killed him on her 18th birthday as a declaration of freedom. She said that he couldn't be allowed to continue, for he might make a fatal mistake, already evidenced by letting her live. Deep down, though, she just wanted revenge for her family and the life she could have had.

Kougino, Sou

Sou Kougino is known as a reclusive fallen monk as well as a killer for hire.
As a young boy, he had lost his father to illness. Because of his father's death, he was extremely protective of his mother. When he was first enrolled in the Kumogakure Ninja Academy, It took his mother an hour to convince him to leave her side. As more time went by, he began to become less dependant, but no less protective of her.
When Sou was 10, he had returned home one day to find his mother dead. Completely lost and confused, Sou laid next to her for five days before anyone ever noticed them. The doctors examined his mother and explained to him that she had passed from heart failure. Sou never heard them, his mind was completely lost. With no other family, Sou was turned over to the village's Buddhist temple, which provided shelter for orphans.

It took three years before the monks were ever able to get Sou to talk, interact, or even leave his room. He sat in a daze in his pitch-black room the whole time, never speaking or paying attention to anybody. There were many times when the monks would bring a candle with his meals, returning to find the candle extinguished and soaking in a glass of water.
After those three years, Sou finally emerged from his room, only to find that he could no longer withstand being out in the sunlight. The years in darkness had made his eyes weak to light, while also enhancing his hearing to a great extent. While being out in the daylight, he would often wear a headband around his eyes and guide himself by sound.
Despite what the monks had expected, Sou had emerged as a very gentle and kind person, taking to their lessons and teaching with fascination and excitement. When he was out among the public, Sou was somewhat awkward socially, but no less kind and generous.
Years later, Sou had returned from shopping to find ninjas all throughout the temple. One of them told him that some people were discovere to be spies from another ninja village. In their desperation, the spies had hidden in the temple, taking the monks hostage. Sou panicked and ran into the temple. The spies saw him, and thinking he was one of the ANBU, killed the high priest. At that instant, the ninja outside had cut the electricity to the temple, and the lights in the room went out.
When the ninja went in to clear the temple, they turned the lights back on, and found the spies dead, torn to pieces, and an unconscious Sou with clothes soaked in blood, and two large cuts on his face.
When Sou recovered, he was cast away the temple. The other priests saw him as a demon, and wanted him as far away from the temple as possible. Sou was furious that the people who took him in so many years ago would so quickly cast him aside.
The next morning, Sou left the temple and began his life as a wanderer. It wasn't until a few days later that anyone noticed that the temple was full of corpses.

It has been two years since then, and Sou is now a professional killer. He takes offers to kill just about anyone, save for mothers and their children.
Combat

Sou is a skilled fighter by day, and an excellent one by night. The years of darkness expanded the pupils of his eyes to take up almost 80% of the eye's visible surface area, giving him almost completely jet black eyes. These eyes take in light at a much higher intensity than normal, making starlight bright enough to seem like a well-lit room. This coupled with his heightened hearing puts him at an incredible advantage during the night. He often conceals himself during the day, preferring to fight exclusively in the darkness.

Sou wasn't in the ninja academy long enough to learn complex jutsu, nor any elemental ones. He relies almost exclusively on his own brand of improvised taijutsu. He also wields a monk's staff, which conceals a hidden blade. His fighting style relies on speed and stealth. Quick surprise attacks are his specialty.

Samsara - A technique in which Sou spins his blade multiple times in the time frame of a second. If he cuts down his enemy, he sheathes the blade, and sounds the ring chimes on his staff.

Nidana - A technique Sou uses to kill an enemy in a more painful manner. Sou cuts the enemy 12 times, severing vital tendons and ligaments, rendering the enemy incapable of moving, much less escaping. How the technique ends depends on Sou's mood, but never merciful.

Sunyata - The most common method used to end Nidana. Sou cuts a circle into the victim's chest, and tears out their heart.

San-youshiki - This is Sou preferred technique for assassination. It follows three stages...
Anicca - Inflicting a non-lethal injury on the target, often stabbing through the shoulder or leg.
Dukkha - Pursuit. Sou gives the target a moment to escape. While they are doing so, he tends to any others that are around. If the enemy doesn't flee, he inflicts more injuries similar to Anicca, or uses Nidana if the victim is getting out of control.
Anatta - Disembowelment. The arms and legs are cut away.

The victim then moves on to Nirvana, which is decapitation.

Lot of stuff in there. In retrospect he seems more gruesome than any assassin, but when it comes to me making evil characters, I seem to have a penchant for brutality...

Name: Shuusei Shiina
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Hair: Long to the waistline, ebony and straight.
Eye Color: Blue.
Height: 53 kg
Weight: 173 cm
Birthplace: Konoha.
Rank: None / Jonin. She isn't registered as one, since she's independent for the most part.
Clothing: She doesn't like strong colors, because it doesn't blend as well around her. Her choice of clothing goes with black pants and long-sleeved shirt, with a brown overall tied in the waist with a belt. She uses combat boots and fingerless gloves - mostly because she does not like to feel them cold.

Bio: Shiina was born in a rather rich family, but never felt too well with that. As her family wished her to adopt their name as her own, she adopted the everyday run and jump around the village instead. She never got to enter the Ninja school because of that, but that didn't stop her from doing things on her own - partaking into the Chuunin Exam illegally, winning it under everyone's noses just to blow her cover on purpose in the end, while escaping and leaving everyone to know who she was.

She was instantly recognized as a Jonin after that, although the records do not have her name on it. She has received countless invitations to join the Ninjas, but she always refused them, since she'd rather do things on her own.

Shiina is filled with interest but is bashful about her opinions. If she thinks something is stupid, she will say it - though that doesn't stop her from trying to think otherwise. She'd just rather let everyone know.

A good natured and loyal person, she is sometimes considered even as a lie to keep the Jonin with their eyes open... Well, they clearly do not have them open enough.

Jutsu: Shiina is a one-on-one combat specialist, and a masterful one at that. She has developed an ability that concentrates her chakra around her body in such insane levels, she is capable of moving without making a single sound or moving the air. This works in such a way the enemy nearby won't be able to track her down even if she's just walking around him in circles. Her presence basically nullifies into itself.

Even while making eye contact, it's extremely hard to see Shiina properly while she is using this. At least, when one is close enough. Spectators, for example, will be able to see her clearly and will wonder why her enemy suddenly became a punching bag.

Shiina's remarkable skill to deliver insanely powerful blows exactly where they hurt the most is one of her most dangerous feats. Kicking someone in the back of the head, resulting in him burying 1/3 of it onto the cold hard ground is proof of her amazing control over chakra, something most people can hardly pull off.

Thanks to this, she also has developed the bad habit of following people in broad daylight without being caught.

She has developed her chakra so she can physically enhance herself with it, a technique similar to that of Tsunade, but not simply devoted to breaking things, and not nearly as powerful. She can basically increase the potency of her legs so she can suddenly jump a lot higher and faster than she usually could under normal circumstances.

She is proud to never have lost in a jumping contest, or in a race, to anybody.

Or so she claims.

Clothing: dark purple halter top with he Ai black rose crest on the back, black legging-type pants, a black not quite knee length skirt w/ a slit down one side over them. Knee-high black boots. Sometimes wears a hooded purple cloak with a silver clasp in the shape of her family crest

Bio: Raika has a will of iron. She will never back down from a fight, and will stop at nothing to defend those she loves. Honor- and duty-bound, she has resolved to never, ever give up, even in her darkest hour. Her loyalty to her village is steadfast and she will do whatever is necessary to protect it. Training hard every day, she has become one of the most powerful ninjas in the village. However, this doesn't mean she doesn't know how to have fun. Raika loves to party as much as the next person, and can dance like nobody's business. She has a few friends, enough as far as she's concerned.



Jutsu: water and lightning style.
note: I fail at explaining individual jutsus, so I am just going to write general stuff.
Can use all types of range attacks, but works best at close or long range.
Can use ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu, but is best at tai and genjutsu. Illusions are very realistic.

Kekkei Genkai: Night's Stealth. Allows her to become one with the night and manipulate darkness itself to attack in stealth. Also, her eyes become like those of a cat, able to see in the dark perfectly. Those eyes are adept at casting realistic illusions.

Other weapons/attacks/whatever: kunai, daggers, spikes (for throwing or for making a minefield of them), knives. Also fantastic at hand to hand combat, and can use swordplay if necessary.

History and personal:
Her parents were murdered. Nobody knows what really happened that night. But since then she has trained to become an assassin in hopes of finding the ones responsible. She is masterful at it, due to her skills with stealth and quick combat. She has friends and likes to party, but there are times when Raika likes to just go off on her own. Enjoys quiet places. As far as romance goes, she has never really been in love and still isn't. No guy has ever taken her attention in that respect, so she chooses to go it solo. She is levelheaded usually, but if you make her angry enough...WATCH OUT.
Somewhere inside herself, Raika knows there is darkness. An ever-present figurative 'monster', lying in wait for the day she will give in-which is never. She is always fighting that dark side of herself.

Hey, I can understand that. I haven't drawn in so long that I'm not sure if I still can. I used to be decent, but I just couldn't ever get my drawings to the forum, because of that old crappy computer. Now that I have a way to get it to work, I don't have any drawings to show. Life just sucks, don't it?

If my counts right, it looks like we have seven entries (I'm horrible at counting, so this could be off J/K), so that means this was more successful than Zaku's original. I know how you feel. Ever since I got a new laptop, my scanner's decided to not work on Windows 7 no matter what I do. Of course, I'm too cheap to buy a new scanner, so I just snapped a pic of my drawing with my iPhone, which is a hand-me-down, because I'm too damn cheap to get one of those too.

I'm liking a lot of these characters, it's going to be hard to choose one...

Yeah. I just recently borrowed a laptop from a friend 'cause I'm too cheap to buy a new one. I'm not sure if you remember, but I used to have to operate with a '98 HP running windows '98. Pathetic, I know. One of these days I'm just gonna break down and get a good one. But, back on topic. . .

Yes, these characters are all really good. But, we all know who's going to win. . . Seriously, though. I get the feeling I included too much info. No one's gonna want to read it.

well, its great to see tht we got sum responces to this. Since im gunna be up until like 5 30 am (eastern time, being lenient ) i'm allowing character entrees until then. I wanna state this incase anyone feels im takin advantage of being the creator of this months contest, since im too lazy, i haven't finished my character's jutsu list, so im gunna add myself to the voting poll, if anyone feels like this is unfair then i might not count mine or wutever, i just felt it was sumthin to bring up and since i went until 530 for entrees. if this continues and i (somehow, based on sum of the characters here) win and start another contest, i will (try to my best ability) not do this. Thanks to the 6 of you (not including me) who entered characters in this attempt to bring bac these skill increasing contests. Surprisingly writing this novel at 1:30, i bid u readers ado and hope u don't mind me bending the rules.
