That opening sequence is from the prequel manga. Kizumonogatari from what was posted previously. They talk about some of what happened to her in the second episode (passing comment). I wish more of the prequel got animated.

The opening sequence looks like it's showing Araragi's arms reaching for the class rep.

At one point in episode 2 I thought "Hang on. Is Oshino played by the same guy who played the Medicine Seller in Mononoke?"

Yep. Sure is. Hadn't noticed that in the first episode, but during the 'exorcism' scene I was half expecting a mention of truth, form and regret.

As i mentioned previously about the 1st episode a very interesting series. Episode two shed so much light it was almost blinding. I must say i throughly enjoyed it though it was interesting learning exactly why the crab took away Hitagi's weight. Once i heard the explanations it all made sense, and then i was reminded of a old saying that we all have uttered plenty of times in our live "thats a weight of my shoulders" But not only did it take away her weight it seems to also have taken away her feelings as well. which explains why she seemed like a 1st class grade A bit** to Araragi. However after paying respects to the god and coming to terms with her past everything was restored including her feelings.

Man did we get to see a lot Hitagi this time WOW what a nice body. I cracked up when she would put on a towel and commented "poor people do that" i dont why but it thought it was too damn funny. Also, her payment to Araragi for helping her out was a fanservice look at her gorgeous body (all the while insulting him mind you). I cant believe how embarrassed he was maybe he really will be a virgin forever.

Im definitely sticking with Bakemonogatari oh and i freakin love the art style the ending credit stills are just gorgeous.

Can anybody clear up the saying Araragi used when he was explaining to Hitagi why he spends so much time with the class rep?

Something about useful people/useless people? I get that she turned the phrase around and was making fun of him or something.

Well this is turning out to be a pretty interesting series. The whole thing with the crab did make sense when the explanations got started. But yeah it's times like these that I'm grateful my family is only a little strange and not outright messed up. Well at least she got her weight back. An interesting friendship formed that started with catching a falling girl and a stapler to the mouth .

I just imagined them telling the story to their kids.

Anyone get a KissXSis feeling from Araragi's sisters? (without the brocom)

Also, I hope Hitagi's personality change isn't permanent.

Wow, I totally didn't pick up on that at first.

Now I feel like he's all the more appropriate for the part.

Yeah I guess, but within the context of the anime it is a personality change since we only known the more... sassy Hitagi.

I'm more then sure "in the context" is what's contradicting you. I would say plot-wise its a personality change.

I wouldn't call it a personality change, so much as a vector change.

Ahah, that's pretty clever. Does the date/calendar motif have any meaning or symbolism with regards to the siblings or is it just a random theme naming type thing?

By the way are there any news about the three extra episodes that are supposed to be available on-line? Are they going to do the Koyomi Vamp? or extend upon the 5 stories from Bakemonogatari two volumes that are airing on TV?

I mean it's a shame Kisshot was really impressive in the 1st ep. OP
