Inferno is not kinda place to let them to have feelings. McGuire sees them as perfect hatchetmen, nothing more. For Eins and Zwei to have any other prerogative besides putting bullet holes into Inferno's target is considered invalid. I won't say more about Claudia's role as it seems to be she will be major character in the anime arc.

The key here is Eins. She could be casted ironically as the master, trainer and saviour of Zwei's soul. Zwei is a lost soul that desperately need a guiding hand as hinted in OP and ED of the series. As for his current situation now, only Eins able to rein his humanity back? Perhaps.

As for the hypersexuality of Eins, it is natural for Scythe Master to treat her that way. After all, she is his most prized possession and beautiful as deadly... Japanese personification of zankoku bi (cruel beauty) or Chinese philosophy of shredded beauty. I believe the director tried to evoke that feel as it is done successfully in artistic samurai chambara anime Shigurui (2007). Scythe Master was so taken by his creation in that sense. I hope people grasp what I am saying here.

If Scythe Master goes that far, then it's prob a control issue. But if a certain part of his body is touching hers, then intercourse is a 99% possibility. Sexual intercourse can be used as a means of control also. The OVA had a shot of her nude lying on her tummy with SM cleaning a gun. So another way to interpret this is that Ein is being sexually abused by SM. She can't effectively fight back because of her brainwashing. SM's little acting out in ep. 3 preview occured because Ein was showing some feelings toward Zwei in ep. 2 which was viewed as her having some independent thought maybe.

Good point: no one is clean from having blood on their hands.

By the way, the second episode surpassed the first--by a lot. I mean, I definitely enjoyed the first episode for what it was, but this second episode was just filled with so much more psychological tension. Watching Zwei run in the desert heat and watching his eyes glaze over with the demeanor of a cold-blooded killer was both sad and strangely thrilling.

Animation quality remains quite high as well. I already like this show far more than I liked Noir.

Claudia is such a hot mature sexy woman, which is very rare in this moe world , the other one is Ryoko from Yakushiji Ryoko no Kaiki Jikenbo. . Much better character design than the moe one from the VN imo. hopefully MOAR Claudia in eps 3

After some convincing from my friend to watch this series that I feel skeptical at first ( the first adaptation just ................)



I'm very pleased with the two episodes. It manage to capture the atmosphere of the game really well (I'm a fan of the game) . And the eerie BGM and song just perfect for this kind of theme. Love the VA that they choose since it sounds really fit in to me. They change some of the charcter design but it doesn't really bother me. (I prefer this claudia design while on the other hand I prefer Ein game design)

Definitely on my favourite watch list, can't wait for more

Ein's parents got murdered and she wound up there IRRC. She was being strangled by a customer because she wasn't responding at all (she was just a passive doll at that point). She managed to kill the bastard. However, SM was in the next room (how convenient, smelled like a test to me) and that's how she got into that org.

Yes, it matters. SM is her boss and she's brainwashed to follow his orders. It won't be consensual.

Yes, you heard that right. Nothing. No sex, no intercourse, no funny stuff above the level of "licking the shoulder". Why would anything happen? For Scythe Master, Ein is the perfect _weapon_ he created. He doesn't see her as a woman or an object of sexual desire, she's a _killing tool_. His perfect killing tool. So all this "consentual" speculation is completely off the mark to begin with.

Sooo, what about ep3?

They altered the "graduation fight" quite a bit, in the game Reiji was much colder during the duel, but then tilted out much more afterwards. In the anime, he blundered more (like Ein blundered in anime ep1), but the aftermath still rang true. So overall, I'm not quite as delighted as I was with ep2, but again, a solid episode delivered well.

Alot of the kudos go to the soundtrack. Without it, they wouldn't be able to capture the sad-hopeless atmosphere so much. How Reiji is losing himself bit by bit.
