Anyway, Onto speculations!

(1) The countermeasures won't work, cus duhh they're countermeasures.
(2) 2 people are gonna die in July... (probably 2 useless students or something :P)
(3) Mei and Mr. Dense Protagonist is gonna create a club (yes a club!) for solving the supernatural event and determining the Another. The implementation details are unknown, but it could as well be only Mei and him... and some staff members.

My prediction on who's the another? Hmm... can't say, they're too innocent (the students so far). Maybe if it was the staff who was the Another and the students were just all coincidentally 30?

It looks like they are taking full advantage of being ignored. They can do whatever they want. And of course Mei was withdrawn before, even though she knew why eing ignored hurts. Now she can have someone to share that lonliness with. And since Koichi seemed drawn to Mei to begin with maybe hes even glad a bit. This episode is going tp make me ship them even more. lol

I knew it! The Misaki from 26 years was indeed a male! What's more is that he, along with his whole family, died in a house fire. Someone could've easily set the house afire, but wouldn't that make this calamity one of malice? That was exactly what the librarian stated it wasn't; according to him this is a natural occurrence.

Kouichi's fantasy was awesome; he really should've really got up and started dancing with Mei. Just imagine the shocked look on the faces of their classmates and their teacher. Kouichi X Mei!

I thought it was extremely convenient that as soon as Kouichi's father brought up the topic about Kouichi being in Yomiyami before, the line became filled with static, and his dad almost instantly decided that he was wrong. Is this that memory alteration thing at work, perhaps? The same goes for Reiko; her class may have very well discovered how to prevent this phenomenon, and yet, she cannot remember anything about that. I do think that this kind of points to the idea that our MC is the 'other'. I absolutely do not want that to be the case; I'm wondering if the show is trying to make us think that the 'other' is Souichi, only to prove us wrong later.

So at the end of the year, the 'other' reappears in all of the records from which they were erased, and then they are forgotten.

This episode basically confirmed that all of the things shown in the prologue actually are going to occur. I think I'll go through the images again in the speculation thread again some time later tonight.

We're halfway through, and we still don't know the role of dolls in this show. It can't be something as simple as symbolism, can it?

Oh man Kouchi's dream was hilarious. So we got many questions answered. Looks like the teacher wants to kill somebody, but why i have no idea.

If Koichi is imagining that I guess he wants it. But too bad it doesn't actually happen, that would have been cute. I like that they get closer though. Is it sad that I care more about their relationship now than the horror aspect?

I'm pretty sure he plans to take his own life. Hence the whole 'you all will have to handle what comes next' speech.

This was certainly an enjoyable episode on several fronts - seeing Mei and Koichi interacting and getting closer is certainly welcome, as I find learning bits and pieces about her 'real' personality and quirks quite interesting. Likewise, it's nice to see more and more light being shed on the whole curse incident, now that they have found a willing informant in the librarian.

Speaking of whom, I wonder if he will play a role in finally stopping this phenomenon for good - he considers himself responsible for triggering it, and has obviously been keeping tabs on the whole ordeal as it bothers him greatly, so I wonder if he might also be the key to ending it all. Since he was the teacher who condoned the whole "Misaki is still there" deal, thus being the teacher who "opened" class 3 to the dead, I wonder if he might also be the one who can officially announce that the party is over. Or I could be completely off the track ...

Anyways, Mei was the one who stole the spotlight for me. Despite that she has lost her "enigma" status, I find her no less interesting because of it. She certainly isn't as anti-social as her initial impressions led me to believe, and she seems to be getting along with Koichi fairly well. Her rooftop conversation with Koichi was certainly cute, with her promising to show him her drawing ... someday, him promising to make her a bento ... someday, and her agreeing to visit him in Tokyo ... someday. The life of an outcast doesn't seem so bad when you have someone to share it with (And as added bonus, you can skip classes as much as you want - how awesome is that )

The homeroom teacher in the end ... I wonder if it's the curse affecting him, or he simply cracked under the pressure ? I guess the answer depends on whether he stabs himself, or someone else.

Just a couple of quick reactions first

Here's what I said last week

When the school year started the number of desks was right and all students in class 3 thought they wouldn't have to deal with the curse this year.
However,in came transfer student Kouichi and so "the number of students in the class increased by one."

Glad I got that right

Also either the translators were trolling or they seriously screwed up when translating the previous episodes by referencing Misaki as "She".I expect a shitstorm incoming of viewers confused.

The anime is really trying really hard to tell us that Kouichi is dead,notably with that "who is dead?" shot right after the father hanged up.I'm guessing they're just having fun misleading us
