Tatsuya's main selling point is that he can kill anyone without batting an eyelid, especially when it comes to Miyuki.

i think that common template of protogonist as a emotion driven kid is overdue, thats why tatsuya design seems so refreshing ...

Those kids who don't have self-control would F everything they do if they aren't in the manga. So unrealistic.

Near the end of the tournament arc, where he and the 101st go and obliterate the Chinese gang that kept screwing with the competition. Since they had involved Miyuki, he was actually pissed for real. Hence he deliberately toyed with them before killing them all.

The toying part was an act. While he was legitimately angry, he would have just coldly killed them all without the theatrics if the major hadn't needed the info on who the leader was.

But at the end he dropped the act/charade. Tatsuya himself said that after he got the information and let loose his rage on that poor guy

I forgot where i read it but i'll go back and check. I'm sure I read that even in his interactions with friends the facial expressions are faked to more easily blend in.

It's during finals at college and alot of people are busy during this time period so the translators are prolly just dealing with IRL stuff. either way i'm sure they will finish when they have time so please be patient.

The research focus of Lab 4 that birthed the Yotsuba clan was “the endowment and improvement of magical abilities given by the mind’s structure for the usage of mind manipulation magic”. In order to fulfill this purpose, Lab 4 first gathered people whose lineage predisposed them to have mind manipulation power.

Among them, individual people were transformed into genuine super powered beings and also mere illusionist tricksters who could not do more than create heat haze like mirages. Those magicians with strong mind manipulation abilities were strengthened, weeded out and had the primary field of their magic calculation area directly modified. That was Lab 4 accepted procedure for magician development.

The “Yotsuba” produced as a result inevitably descended from two types of magician lineages. One were those born with mind manipulation ability and strengthened. The other were those whose magic calculation areas were warped by a strong power. These two heritages stood side by side and mixed to form the “Yotsuba”. Even among those who shared the same blood, displayed the two traits randomly. For example, Miya inherited the traits of the former, ‘Mind Structure Manipulation’ is a form of mind manipulation magic that only she can use; Maya represented the later, she did not have any form of mind manipulation magic instead she acquired a distinctive power from birth.

I will probably make small changes before i make the final post.

Although I am 75% through the final 25% is going at about a sentence a day, so do not expect the finished 'Untouchable' soon

Okay i just wanted to ask if anyone thought Maya will make Tatsuya heir when they graduate from high school, cause from what i read in the light novels and alot of the comments something big will happen then. like for example she also said she has something planned and he cant betray a clan his a leader of, plus his incapable of holding grudges and as the heir, it could be Saegusa Mayumi marrying into the Yotsuba family not the other way around since she's not the heir and is the 3rd not even 2nd option to the Saegusa's. Tatsuya will make the best possible leader of Yotsuba, cold, smart, calculative and a strategic class magician (isn't Maya one too) at that, would make Yotsuba an undisputable powerhouse in the magic world. Him being not given any position when one of the old servants of the house questioning Maya is a way to further hide Maya's intentions/plans from within the clan even making him look even more ineligable by being guardian to the heir Miyuki. They always say the best way to deceive an enemy is also to deceive your allies as well lol.

Also i have a feeling one of the siblings is Maya's child and also the reason why Miyuki has trouble remembering something seeing her uncle (Kuroba) having pained look on his face when looking at her in one of the flashbacks could also mean her uncle is her actual father. so they have different fathers as well as different mothers.

I read somewhere Maya was engaged to the current head of Saegusa but was kidnapped, tortured and raped. (raper the uncle?) i just think the uncle and aunt (Maya) is Miyuki's parents and Tatsuya parents are real parents making them first cousins, also best way for the author to have Miyuki as a love interest without it being incest and since their cousins from twin mothers might affect the DNA test which Miyuki said they have been tested in one of the volumes. Just food for thought. please feel free to prove me wrong in any points

Couldn't that go the exact opposite direction though? If there was an internal struggle Tatsuya would be safe since he is the head of the clan, but Miyuki would be the focus of any attacks since she is the only person with any influence on him. History has lots of examples of factions where violence broke out over who has the access/control over rulers. If Tatsuya decided that the possibility of an assasination attempt on Miyuki might occur from within the clan what would stop him from killing all the clan members except Miyuki and himself. Miyuki has been indoctrinated from a young age to be loyal to the clan so Maya probably feels Miyuki is a safe choice, the clan would get 90% of the benefits with 0% of the risk. It wouldn't make much sense to take such a huge gamble for such a marginally better reward.

If Tatsuya was made the head of the clan why on earth would he bother with a marriage alliance? Given his limited emotions he wouldn't really be concerned with prestige, social standing, or the balance of power between the 10 master houses and he only loves one person which isn't Mayumi. As the head of one of the 10 master clans he's just been put in a position where short of a war no one has authority over him, why wouldn't he just spend all his time in a lab somewhere having tea with Miyuki and revolutionizing magic instead of diving head first into politics?

I agree that there is a chance that they are cousins rather than siblings. Though Tatsuya being Maya's child would be more likely since both of their abilities are types of decomposition magics. While Miyuki and Miya deal with mind manipulation magics.

Maya was stated to be unable to have children but if you consider the reason why, it means that her eggs would likely still be able to be fertilized as long as there is a someone else willing to carry it (Miya).

Plus if you consider Miya's guilt towards what she did to her sister, she would very likely be willing to carry that child and using her magic to try and give him magic even though it had such disastrous effects on her health. She was trying to do everything she could to help her sister even if Tatsuya would ever be acknowledged as Maya's son. and she was really distant from Tatsuya because maybe she felt that she failed to do what she could for him and ended up with the same kind of distance with him as with her sister after what she did to her.

an interesting thought I had. Does anyone think that Miyuki may attempt to learn her mother magic in the future to try and restore Tatsuya's emotions?
