Now that I've got some new listening materials, it's time to reread some of the awesome battles in Volumes 4 and 5.
Random observation, but I see that Kawaguchi Tsukasa likes the whole "conveniently-timed power-up" trope along with sentient weapons. It's present in 「千の魔剣と盾の乙女」 as well.

Nothing makes the climactic battle in Volume 4 and the engagements in Volume 5 more awesome than reading them while this is playing.
5,000 versus 30,000 YEAH! Haven't gotten that far yet, unfortunately. I'm only at the part where Rach just got his hands on the sword.

Sure, I don't mind. I'll probably be reading Volume 4 by November! XD Can't wait to see the armor upgrades for Nagi, Phil, and Elicia, mmmmmm.
Just a wishful thought, but it'd be awesome if (just like in 「千の魔剣と盾の乙女」) the Vanadis gets outfit upgrades once they're officially part of Tigre's harem. After all, they'd be vying for their husband's attention! Ahahaha.

This is definitely an appropriate track to listen to during the rematch between Elen and Mila versus the fire-breathing and twin-headed dragons in Volume 5.
Uncontrolled high altitude vertical free fall dive, heh. Crazy Elen. For those who want to imagine the scene: if you've seen that Fate/Zero episode with the huge tentacle monster, imagine Saber doing an uncontrolled high altitude vertical dive, stabbing her sword into the ruptured flesh of the thing, and pulling off an Excalibur while her sword is still in the monster. Just to give you an idea of how awesome it was.

btw did Tigre use any type of specialized arrows? I believe his default is the standard AP arrows but I think I saw something that said Mila imbued some of his arrows in the quiver with frost/ice element. with that said, I wish I could see him fire:
HVAP - pretty much when he uses a little bit of the Black Bow's power. HE (magic)- I believe he did this a couple of times but I don't know if he frequently does it HEAP - against GAR-Land. god that was AWESOMESAUCE. HE (technology) - should gunpowder arrive, an arrowhead tipped with explosives (hey, a man can dream, right?) wind imbued - his usual ZOMGWTFHOLYSHIT range times 2, possibly creating hurricanes due to the power of the bow fire - him using it to set a fire trap or against the soldiers (btw, how effective was the fire arrow against armored targets IRL?) ice - I dunno. slow or affected area frostbites?

It is just national tradition, I.E Bows are consider to be sissy and weaklings. It actually fits, given a lot of warrior cultures (Heck, even anime prejudices).
I might do a translation of this LN sometimes, now that I quit Blade Dance's translation~ It looks interesting. Especially since Ellen is actually not-insane type and it look like the raws are being actively translated to chinese. A girl with a superior grasp of tactics....meow~ |

Also, the manga left out something somewhat racist. Other than demanding the 70,000 silver, she said if he refuse to be her underling, she will sell him to the nations to the south, which are BLACK SKINNED people who still practice slavery.
He refused never the less, saying since he was a lord of the realm, siding with her was treason. After he was escorted back to his room, Elen was like "In that case, we might as well conquer his fief...I mean, is next door..." |
