I wouldn't be so quick to take up the bet. As a writer, I would not be above being aware of such speculation and then proving it wrong.

More generally, I imagine this would turn out to be a bit of good fun (on this note, I should take Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War back off the shelf for a bit)... still looking forward to a new Naval Ops/Warship Gunner game, though.

The synopsis of the story on the Japanese website confirms that Cia is just being manipulated by a higher power through her jealousy. If it's not Ganondorf then it'll probably be Demise. Everything evil in the Zelda universe pretty much originates from him anyway.

Not sure how well that fits now, given that Midna and the Majora's Mask moon are in it.

Wait, Zelda's hair needs to be explained? And not sure if it'd really address any story reason for Link becoming a wolf. Been a while since I played TP, but I thought Midna was... relatively human before ending up in the Twilight world, and I didn't think she was there for THAT long (if this is before OoT, it'd make it hundreds or thousands of years by the time TP happened, wouldn't it?).

Midna was a human even in the Twilight world. The reason why she turned into an imp was because Zant cursed her with Ganon's magic.

it was not MEANT to have unified timeline. Only unified themes

Nintendo only paid lip service (and cash in) to certain fans who, for some reason, really want a unified timeline
so now we have one, but I'm very sure that "how will this fit in the unified timeline?" is never a concern when making new zelda games

But that is a interesting theory. It could also be her sister, alter ego splinted off from her original personality when she got corrupted or whatever crazy ideas.

That said, I would rather prefer that she was separate since I'm not to fond of such an plot twist being on the cover. Besides where did her giant tits go?

Pretty much. It's a really convoluted piece of work based on a middle entry in the franchise (Ocarina of Time) that shared only a few direct and indirect connections to some of the other titles. A timeline was not something that was in mind when the series started, especially not one that included terrible things like the iCD games which should forgotten and buried for all eternity.

So ultimately this statement doesn't really mean much of anything to me as the official timeline is barely coherent as it is. HW would hardly much affect much if were there.
