hmm after reading the first and second volume ( thanks for the translations guys) i've come to the conclusion claire is a bit worse than Louise from ZnT, after all a whip is bad but a flaming whip is even worse.
The MC also for some reason reminds me of Saito although this time thinking with his head instead of his dick, courage honor and bravery being in the mix too. |

In my opinion, what makes Claire worse is she doesn't have Main heroine status. (We've debated it in some previous pages)

Well Claire, unlike Louise, doesn't bring out the whip whenever the guy so much as looks at another girl. Its usually only when he gets caught in really compromising situations, despite them being unintentional. Really, the other harem members do the same thing when they catch him in those situations too. It's part of the comedy. In contrast, ZnT tries to make its abuse comedic, but it crossed the line several times. That's something I feel Claire hasn't managed yet.

The reason I prefer Claire is that one, her abuse of Kamito is much more reasonable than Louise's of Saito. Admit it, most of the situations (him in bed with one or more naked girls, Est drawing chocolate on her body and telling Kamito to eat her, etc.) actually make sense. Two, when she crosses the line Kamito stops her. He's stronger than her, but puts up with her tantrums because "he can't leave her alone".

^^Nope. all tsundere should just stop. I think it's bullshit to be beaten up by bitch despite not doing anything wrong. Saito is always in the wrong, but Louise who is not being honest with her feeling has no right to do that to him, and she's no even his wife or girlfriend, claiming him her slave, which I'd snap her neck if someone call me that. I mean, fuck...

Claire dishing out beatings to Kamito left, right and centre (maybe exaggerating a bit) during the first two volumes are annoying and her reasons for saying he is a slave are laughable. He saved her life by contracting with Est and yet he has to be a slave? I quite agree just because she is jealous she is allowed to beat him up? I'm sure if it was the other way around people would not be saying that a guy beating a woman up through jealousy was right. A guy making the girl a slave would be an arsehole or a jerk (or something much stronger), but because it's a girl it's more acceptable?
I'm not hating on Claire in particular (I just don't like the way it seems she's forgiven for it every single time), because she does have moments when she's sincere and honest but they are too few and far between. I quite like Rinslet (I think that's the silver haired girl with the wolf?) and Restia/Est from what little I gathered from the spoilers. |

It's a shame because apart from those moments the other characters appear to get on quite well, the naivety of some of them is cute and makes the characters more endearing. When Claire is open she fits into that category but as I said before it just doesn't happen often enough to make an impact.
