It'll probably depend on how much of the LN they animate. The scene's near the end of the sixth volume, which has a massive cliffhanger, so they either they
a) stretch things out and leave the end of the 6th volume out for a possible future season,
b) cover more than three volumes this time, or
c) end the season with a cliffie.

I do hope we get that scene though. *evil laugh*

^^Oh hell yeah! Who else is pumped for these three?

For some reason, I thought Akabayashi was a red-head.

Cast:
M.A.O as Vorona
Kappei Yamaguchi as Mizuki Akabayashi
Hiro Shimono as Aoba Kuronuma
Yuuki Ono as Chikage Rokujo

I kinda hoped that Jenya (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ency...e.php?id=94741) will play Vorona.

I hope they aren't going to squeeze the ten remaining books into three cours. Even assuming 39 episodes, that's less than four eps per volume.

BTW, are they gonna retell the first season, or it's going to have new content?

While I'm excited that Durarara!! will be back, the problem is how they will handle the LN adaptation spanning across three cours?

good things happen to good series, disappointments are only for series on decadence.

More Durarara is great, but like Utsuro, I'm hoping the ten volumes aren't crammed into 3-cours. Volumes 4 and 9 could work with just a couple episodes, but I don't see how the rest would work out without a lot of things getting cut out.

I am afraid that is exceedingly likely. They would have only announced three cours, an unusual length, because they WANT to get the entire first series of books done, if only because there is a sequel novel series to promote, and they need to boost its sales.

They probably can't afford a full four cour.

The best thing for me about this is the knowledge that Dengeki CAN make 3 cours Anime seasons if they wanted to.

I can think of a few titles that could use a 3 cours hurrah.

Eh? Volume 4 and 9 are some of best books in the series. If anything vol 7 is the one that could be cut down without much issue since it's just side-stories and Izaya's part is the only real plot-relevant one IIRC. Everything else is just character fluff, entertaining, but not necessary.

EDIT: Losing Akabayashi's backstory would be a real shame though.
