I wonder what would be the reaction if Aleister Crowley one-hits both Marian (to eliminate her and keep her from using the suicide-inducing sword) and Othinus (who currently "sits in the throne" of magician rankings). There's a big chance that Crowley would lecture Othinus about her 50/50 power as "inferior to one who can make things happen 100% of the time".

If Aleister can always make it 100/100 then fighting Othinus. She will bring it into 50/50 odds. That's how amazing her powers is. She makes the impossible for others possible for her. A 1% chances on doing the possible from the impossible is nothing to her because she can make it into 50%. But the downfall is their is still 50% chances of failure.

Maybe because Crowley exist in a realm where numbers doesnt apply to him, neither would probability? Beside maybe you can defeat Crowley, but can u defeat ALL of him?

My guess though, Crowley would probably say-

"There's a reason why I didn't become a Maijin...."

I'd imagine Aleister says something like...... 50:50 is possible because Majin encompass all possibility, but the possibility of me getting beaten does not exist in the first place, and you could not have encompass something that does not exist. Thus, your minor probability trick is useless before me.

But if Aleister can maintain a 100/100 then there would never have been any deviations or errors for his plan involving Imagine Breaker as Birdway pointed out. Or are we talking about a pure battle situation here? Then again it's Aleister. I wouldn't be surprised for him saying something like... Deviations from the plan? Ah, yes those. Those have been accounted for since the beginning so calling them deviations seems inappropriate no?

a question still lingering in my mind... can you guys answered these?

1. I'm still confused about "generation" of imagine breaker, is that mean there is another imagine breaker before current touma? who? and if so why don't they just kill touma if they feel they cannot work with current generation imagine breaker and wait for the next?
2. Othinus power? 50/50? so every possibility exist? even her own defeat so is all just down to luck?
3. the one specimen othinus mean? is it crowley? or someone else? Personally i dont think it's crowley since he doesnt seem to have properties that surpasses normal human even though he can use great magic. what othinus mean seems to refer to untainted gemstone since most of gemstone has undergone AC curriculum.

1. There was a previous Imagine Breaker holder. However, it seems as if the power doesn't just leap to the next person once the holder dies, plus there is the problem with the power within to deal with. We'll need more info before we deal with this question.

2. Every use of her power has a 50% of succeeding or failing. It's just as described in the novel: It's like playing Russian roulette with three bullets. You have a 50% of succeeding or failing at any time.

3. Again, too vague. It's probably not Crowley, but who knows?

by the way...the lady said about kakine existing what is the possibility of kakine returning somewhat...either as an android or somethin...? since even kagun said about kakine personality still exist when fighting with byouri and its trying to takeover byouri which mean kakine still there...

All of Kakine is still alive, they're just being preserved. Separately

Cyber=Kakine was just a illusion from the start - if he came back it would be like Mugino. Mostly human with a few cyborg parts. But now that he has aquired the abilty to create Dark Matter Tissue, if he comes back it'll be as a near-unkillable Esper with Dark Matter body parts.

And here I'm imagining...since its preserved separately and it's can create dark matter tissue and every time it's transplanted to other person it's trying to takeover said person suddenly there is a surge of zombie like people saying "WE ARE KAKINE"

Unless we truly know how Othinus' powers works (whether if it is just as incomprehensible as Ollerus' Hlidskjalf), we can only speculate. And since Norse magic is already at least 1000 years old, I think it would end up as obsolete as Abrahamic magic when Aiwass and Aleister Crowley powered by the Aeon of Horus enter the battlefield.

For some reason, I don't want Othinus and her powers; I wanted her powerless or dead — anything as long as she can no longer use that 50/50 magic of hers.

Speaking of Aiwass, does he have this battle recorded in his VCR?

Or maybe it is hereditary? Though I think that Kamijou Touya being the previous IB holder sounds like a stretch.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe IB is like being the Avatar (yeah that cartoon). there's a new IB holder that appears once the previous one is dead. All the phrasing in translations sound vague though, so i'm not really sure.

I supoose that's entirely possible - its just that without ESP and magic being common place, the holder of IB never even realizes they have it, bar a few exceptions. Most likely they merely believe themselves to have terrible luck/bestow.

Also, the author's notes are curretly being translated, and some insights into the characters have appeared.

Sorry Kyon, but it looks like the chance of Ransuu being Amata's son are quite low. After all, he's only a mid-low tier Kihara. The son of Amata should at least be some of Byouri's level of Kihara-ness

Thanks js06 and Teh_Ping for translating I've got a bit more ammo for my fanfic now (no time to write these days though, what little of my spare time left is spent browsing fiction )

This volume didn't really give me the feel of 'Yep, this is definitely a Index LN' until past 31. After that though it felt more right than the previous 2 volumes. Just IMO.

I know what you mean Flere. This volume had a different feeling than past Vol's, though I wouldn't go as far as to call the feeling 'wrong'. Merely different.

Just thought of this: If Kakine can now make his body anew with Dark Matter as he wishes, then can he 'shapeshift' by making his body take the likeness of someone, like, let's say... Accelerator?
