So Ichika shows he's still a newb at piloting IS, liked that he crashed completely. Nice to see his first time with the IS, again shows how dense he is because he doesn't read signs.

Cecilia's 180 was a little too soon for me. I like her more now, but i would have liked to see her ease into it. So she did step down and made Ichika the class rep, maybe it was a show of good faith to win him over, though Ichika is to dumb to realize anything.

Rin makes her appearance. I like the distinction between 1st and 2nd childhood friend. She definitely knows how to go for the man she wants, Houki and Cecilia should learn from her. Rin trying to switch rooms was great. Again Ichika didn't understand the meaning of the promise, but i think Houki did as she also told him to die. Nice how she can partially deploy, shows how good of a pilot she is. Rin is big competition for Houki and Cecilia.

So is Rin scared of Ichika's sister just because she's an awesome pilot or because she's the older sister of the guy she likes?

I said last time that he isn't extremely dense but I take that back. But to be honest how old is he again? I can remember someone stating his/her age as 15 or 16 but I can't remember who that was. If my memory isn't completely failing we shouldn't expect Ichika to be an omnipotent harem handler who can understand the hidden meanings of promises instantly but rather a boy who hasn't any / that much experience when it comes to girls. (By the way I'm cheering for Rin no matter who else will join the harem, mayyyyyyyybe for the blond one)

Anyway some points for the episode:
No trespassing sign? COMPLETELY IGNORED
Inconsistent flying skill for Ichika
Cecilia wtf 180 degree turn to dere
Houki trying to hit an 'unarmed' person with her bamboo sword, serious facepalm
Rin is A D O R A B L E <333

He did mention to Rinin that their old middle school friends would love to have known that she has returned. I would assume that since he has moved into the academy for High School, most of his Middle School friends have gone to their respective High Schools and have since distanced themselves from each other.

Love is blind, and people tend to fall in love for the smallest of reasons. What might be insignificant for you could be overwhelming for someone else.

That said, here are some of Ichika's strong points that will lead to girls swooning over him. Any one of these reasons is good enough for girls to fall in love with him.

1) He is handsome
2) He is famous (only male to pilot an IS suit)
3) He appears strong and has a backbone (charisma is always nice)
4) He is aggressive and straightforward on what he wants without being too aggressive (women tend to love men who take charge)
5) He is thoughtful of other people's need and desires to help them improve (women love it when her guy helps her achieve her dreams or makes her better)(Ex: Classroom to Cafeteria with Houki in episode 2)
6) He is social, friendly, and easy to talk to (women love to be around someone they feel comfortable with)

Well, these are only some of the reasons I can think of for now. I am sure there are more.

The energy barrier of the suit protected him from the fall, so his survival is not unexpected at all. What bothered me about his piloting this episode was that in the previous episode, he was an Ace pilot in maneuverability, but in this episode, he had trouble with basic maneuvering. I guess I can only explain it with mental state, as your mind is required to pilot the suit. In the previous episode, his mind was heightened, sharpened, and focus. In this episode, he was more relaxed and unsure.

I really like Rinin in this episode. She turned out better than I expected.

As for Cecilia, her sudden turnaround is not unexpected. The fairer gender can change their attitude and mind on a dime at any given second. I am sure she has her reasons, although it would have been nice if the anime elaborated on it more. It does bring about a more pleasant Cecilia.

I thought that the change in Cecila was too brusk, they should have made the changes slowly.

I liked Rin far better tha I though I would, she has more guts and backbone than the other girls.

About Ichika pitiable performance, it may have something to do with moments of pintch were his willpower surpasses all barriers.

The only two things that I really question is the inconsistency with Ichika's piloting skills and Cecilia's complete turnaround. I thought everything else was enjoyable though.

I don't think people are actually surprised she changed her mind whatsoever. The problem with Cecilia's 180° is that it is way too brutal and didn't have any transition or gradual interactions changes. Plain and simply, it is as if she became a totally different character after a flag and keep go back and forth.
It is just like flipping a switch, and that's from your cookie cutter Oujo archtype, which makes the deal harder to accept than a tsundere.

Exactly. At first I was so weirded out by her transition I thought she was just pulling some crap on Ichika, then I realized this is a harem, and that she was being srs.

Her "ojou-sama" seems to be nonexistent now as well.

Seeing Cecilia now falling head over heels to Ichika is really funny. The "princess" seems to want nothing more than making Ichika her man and nothing will get in her way but of course that wouldn't be the case because Houki will not allow it. Speaking of Houki, well her attitude over Ichika goes up and down. Well, Ichika manage to get some good points to Houki by pointing out some stuffs which means that he's at least paying attention to her giving the girl a blush point for a moment. I guess when Ichika said that she was his "first" makes Houki think that she's ahead of the game and has more "claim" over Ichika despite Rin's appearance and having her own connection to Ichika. Ah well, the battle is still early and we're still missing some more.

Rin is the dere side, and Houki is the tsun side to make things easier for me I do hope that Houki's tsun side towards Ichika gets a little less and more towards the dere side, seems like the relationships is not really going anywhere before Rin arrived.

Well okay...Cecila's quick change in behavior to Ichika was a bit disappointing to see, would've liked to see her losing her pride more slowly (or still have some left at least!)

Man Ichika...totally ignored the trespassing sign what a guy! What's with his sudden drop in his IS suit performance too? Don't tell me he's only "good" at it when he's really up for it. (or if its fights only?)

Houki sure has some...temper problems, trying to strike Rin.

I didn't think I would like Rin that much, but she's definitely the best girl introduced so far. Houki & Cecila could learn a few things from her! (doubt it'll happen though)
Do hope though that if she lost in the next episode she doesn't change too much like Cecila did...but she's a childhood friend so it probably shouldn't effect her too much if she loses...

Anyway 6/10 for this ep

Cecilia might be nicer now, but you could tell that she's still has that prideful personality when talking to others.

Maybe he only does well in fights because he is extremely concentrated in them. While outside fights he isn't really paying that much attention.

Yes, I would have a loved a more casual transition as well. A good example would be Felli in Regios. It took a few episodes and the transition was more gradual. As mentioned by some of the novel readers, it seems that Cecilia's background story was dropped, which probably would have helped explain her sudden change of heart.

Well, I am still enjoying this series, if lacking in explaination at times.
