Have patience since Rome wasn't built in a day so it'll take time to sort this out although the latest on the playstation blog is that they are in to the final stage of internal testing on the new system so it'll probably be sometime next week before the PSN will be back online.

Why did that remind me of the literal trailer for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

Let's hope it comes sooner rather than later, and that they learned their lesson not to cut corners on security, I thought I was in for it

It all depends on WHAT games we get to choose from. I can tell you one thing though if one of the options are the Uncharted games or the God of War series then I'm down.

I would guess the titles would be Sony owned/related right?

I doubt they get permission to give away games from other companies?

Altho I wouldn't mind seeing the Record of Argast add-ons being free. I never bothered with the ones that cost me

I'm satisfied.

Although now that I think about it, the 1 month free PSN Plus might just be used to repair their subscription-base. They must have lost quite a few Plus customers already, and need to get new blood.

The latest is that the delay in getting some services back on is because of the SOE data breach which they only found out about after they announced the "within a week" estimate for getting some PSN services back online

I'm also guessing that if you have a PSP as well you'd get 4 free games also that is only for Europe as there hasn't been any form of announcement on the US blog about what their offering their users.

Well the free games is nice. Will be good when they get themselves back up and definitely better when they figure out just who was responsible for this whole mess. Sucks that one day things can be going smoothly and then some hacker(s) can send everything to hell.

But they haven't announced if they're offering the same system of freebies as the EU side is (what your reading from is the notice that was given at the beginning of May).

That's the deadline they have until they need to bring the PSN back to full swing. The ability to play games online may come before then but not all the features will be available, like the psn store and other things.
