Author's preference. It's written that way in the novels as well, in that way the serie can simply be mentioned as 'Shana'.

Question of the year.

Is Pirsoyn a guy or a girl? It's not stated neither at novels or anime, but I always thought it was the first. But wiki refers to him as she, so... I'm lost.

From the anime, they seem like a male to me... but if the novel doesn't say

Sigh, it is one of the ambigous facts left unanswered by the author, other than the origin of Shana. Of course, the answers should be provided to satisfy our curiosity.

The wiki also says that they don't know themselves if Pirsoyn is a girl or guy as well. So they went with the she explanation

. He sounds male to me..

I couldn't exactly find this but then again, I'm having a migraine from doing so without success.

What is the actual meaning of the word "Guze"? Is it an actual word or just something unique?

Guze means Crimson, I think. Guze no Tomogara means Crimson Denizen, after all, and Tomogara is just Denizen, so...

If translate literally, Guze no Tomogara will be like the "Denizen of the Crimson Realm".
Actually, this is only a name coined by certain human poet long time ago and it gradually spreads among the Denizens.
There are other names to call the world they come from: Impassable Neighbor, Spiral Monastery, but the most popular is Guze.

If you trust the Goetia referrence, Pirsoyn would be male.
But some characters are not the same sex as their demon counterparts: Halphas and Valac are supposed to be male, but changed to female in SnS.

The author really knows how to tease us readers.

Exactly....I mean look at Bel Peol, Chernobog, Gogmagog etc....

Just wondering, was there a limited edition of Shakugan no Shana Final volume I?
They had limited editions of volume I and V for the past 2 seasons, both containing an extra disc with Shana-tan, but it seems this time there is none.

There was a limited edition, but it came with the artbox and a small art book. The bonus disc will be shipping with the LE of volume 2 this time (and then again with volume 6). So a bit different than the first two seasons, but the same idea.

In short, are you saying that there will not be Shana-tan for Season 3 at all? Although it is no as important as the main story, there is no more hilarious Shana-tan for our enjoyment. At least, J. C. Staff can focus solely on producing the best season for Shakugan no SHANA.

Oops, my bad.

I did not realize that the bonus disc is the one containing Shana-tan. Thanks for making it absolutely clear. Sorry for my mistake.

More Shana-tans for our enjoyment!

Hopefully, production of Shana-tan will not affect the quality of production of Shakugan no SHANA Final, which, as we all agree, is more important.

I think the only thing I regret not being seeing in this season of SnS is the relationships between the main characters: I would love to know more about Chiara, Sale, Sophie, Khamsin, Rebecca,....

I mean, the previous seasons were full of that, but in season III there are a bunch of new characters and we know so little about them.
