Well, this looks promising. Just one illustration and my mind's already blown by the stunning visuals. Could this be Kawahara's first fantasy? I hope we get a male MC, but if that's him then I gotta say he looks kinda weak.

Stunning visual. There appears to be shadowy, malevolent figure in the background that looks like a dragon. Can anyone tell us more about this?

So theres only 60 web chapters? It was last updated like 5 years ago so I guess it finished right? Guess I might give it a read before the new chapter for Arifureta today.

You can check the link to web version. It's written between 2004 and 2009. Not quite sure about when Fairy Dance is written, but overall speaking, Aincrad chapter published on the site at 2002, written a year before that. Then due to its popularity and such, he started posting short stories and Fairy Dance and Death Guns etc. on to the site and till 2005. Then it have alicization until 2008. So I approximate it is written when the alongside Phantom Bullet, Alicization, and web version of Accel world.

So it's finally come to this. Aliens. Actually, this premise of an alien race coming down and giving people powers kinda sounds like Alive: The Final Evolution. You know, this is probably the first time Kawahara's first actual action story that takes place in the real world and not some virtual one.

Also, considering Kawahara's track record, I think we can safely assume this to be a harem with our lonely MC who's probably going to become a Kirito, but it looks like we can expect an interesting, unorthodox ability. Wonder how this'll play out and here's to hoping tap picks this up.

I somehow doubt he suffers depression from being the victim of bullying, but odds are good he suffers from some sort of trauma of the social kind or maybe even the death of someone close to him. That is Kawahara's MO, but at least he's not fat and who doesn't dig white hair. On that note, its unlikely for someone to actually have white hair in real life when they're not albino. It may be a side effect of his power or it could be the result of said trauma like what happened to Allen Walker.

I would agree with that. The cover art looks decent enough but it feels somehow inappropriate to the serious nature of the story.

A little more information about the web novel. Its chapter 1 was written before Kawahara began SAO Alicization. He continued the subsequent chapters after the end of Alicization and stopped at Chapter 3 since year 2009.

The three chapters have approximately 2-3 volumes long (Chapter 1 is already 200+ pages long). Each chapter title represents the codename of the chapters' main antagonists. For example "The Biter" in Chapter 1. Look at that malicious shadow at the first post.
