That's because Viz is trying to release the novel issue with the corresponding manga issue number, and that will cause a hindrance to the US market in general because the manga hasn't gotten that far yet.

Now I will write awfully long post. Don't know if I should spoil some of things I write. But if any ones find something that he believe should be hidden from normal people, please tell me by sending a PM or just reply.

Spoiler for Anime/novel comparison:

- First of all, I like the whole series, but J.C. Staff do a lots of confusing things, some times you must know the plot of novels to be able to understand what is really going on. For example, why did Hecate needed to collect emotions with faux vessel?

- As stated in novels, Silver is controlled and summoned true emotions and Margery have had him summoned by her hatred for the men that did her wrong and he killed them for her. But apparently emotions collected from faux vessel was a bit unsuited for this mission.
- The one biggest thing that bugs me is novel vs anime, was creation of tomogara meant to be used as Sairei no Hebis body?

- So, where could story be heading from this point on? Sairei no Hebi takes over Yuji and flame hazes kills him, in particular Shana. Leaving us heart broken and pissed off...
But the whole story have huge potential untapped, we might not know if author is going to end it soon or not.

- Here is some of my thoughts.

Sairei no Hebi merges with Yuji and the whole thing that we missed out from novel 16. Yuji convince Shana and Alastor that what he wish to do is right and that it will work, so Shana and Yuji joins sides while Alastor give them both a benefit of the doubt. Rest of flame hazes trying to stop them, but the BM trinity included other denizens and Shana is holding them back to buy some time for Yuji and his preparations.
So in the end the truth is changed, denizens live among mortal people and they don't need to consume them to do so.

- Here comes the interesting part.

In order for Denizens to live among people in new world, they have to take upon daily life as any ordinary humans. So:

- Alastor becomes history teacher at Misaki school and acts as partial caretaker of Shana. He is often seen by her side and he cares about her, but Wilhelmina is the one who takes care of her for the most of the time. He in turn started to visiting museum quite often. But seeing exhibits is not the main reason he is there.
- The Spiral Organ (Lamie) started to work at museum, she managed to recover the painting and in order to be close to it she picked a work as a guide at museum. Telling story's of different exhibits and so on.
The arc here is that Alastor and Lamie is getting an affection for each other. It starts that he wish to see the painting she was struggling to recover and after a nice talk and tour in museum, he asks if she wish to see what he was doing all this time in this city. He takes her around and shows different places where he and Shana have been before. Sorta live true the good moments of that life but on his own.

- Marcosias start running city's most popular club, he is surely taking up the party spirit from Margery. But he dislikes Margery coming to his party's due to Margery being a very bad drinker and his fear that she might start abusing him again. Because of their different life styles, they don't see each other to often.
- Sydonay is working at that very club as bodyguard, he haven't changed much and he love to swing with his firsts when opportunity comes.
- Hecate have at last found what she desired, she become a normal student at Misaki school and fulfilling her self with her own emotions, living her own life.

Sydonay acts as her caretaker or more to say father. That how he acts and that how he sees him self as. Hecate dint share his opinion at start, but true time it changes and she grows to see him more as a father figure.
Hecate didn't start in same class as Shana and Yuji (as she looks much younger then Yuji or Shana) but she is often seen together with them, with time she comes to liking a boy that goes in her class and meets some of the same emotions that Kazumi and Shana have been struggling with. Since Shana and Kazumi is Hecate's closest female friends she asks them for help with this frustrating emotions. Going true all of this making their friendship stronger.

- Margery Daw started working at kindergarten as teacher/nurse. She found a new reason to live in no small thanks to Sato. She quite her habit of heavy drinking and only drink a glass or two for the sake of taste. She likes being with kids a lot.

- Pheles and Johan is getting their own place in this world, while Johan working as clothe designer and earning lots of fame around the whole world. Pheles acts as his model and words of her beauty reaches every corner of the world.

It is quite hard to place Wilhelmina and Tiamat (especially Tiamat), but I would assume that.
- Wilhelmina working as pharmacies and also takes care of Shana. (Why not maid? Well, she is doing all the house work at Shana's place, so I assume it is more enough of cleaning. Besides she have some skills at healing as we have seen in anime)
- Tiamat started as lawyer and does her job quite well.

- Dantalion started to work for state as lead scientist. With Domino as his lab partner, but she have been given a look of female women. With time, Dantalion start to see Domino more then just lab partner. Domino in her turn, acts as dampening on Dantalions crazy researches and prevent him from doing harmful things.

- Sabrac still keep to what he likes most, being an assassin. (Hitman any one?)

- Fecor have been killed during the battle, so he is out of the picture.

- Bel Peol become a prostitute. Not by her own will. But rather to say forced to take this on, it is unknown if it was Yuji or Sairei no Hebi that was responsible for this. But she did not felt happy about it, she kept a grudge in her for that, wishing for revenge one day. Of course, she quite that job and started in another one.

- Khamsin and Behemoth is probably the only ones that refused to be separated and continued living together. They travelled around the word and observed what happens and how it functions, some times they even fine tune things as well.

- Sairei no Hebi disappeared after the truth have been changed and no one knows of his current location.

Rest of the characters keep on living their usual life and everything went as it usually do.


So what happens next?

Some time passes and school year ended, our heroes was just getting used to the new way to live when the whole balance started to collapse. The Crimson world and human world got separated and laws of the old world returned.
For flame hazes, it meant reunion with their crimson lords and for Tomogaras returning to their former self and the way of living or return to the Crimson world.
This changes affected Flame hazes very hard, sudden return of their crimson lord into their body put many flame hazes under stress and many didn't survived. The ones that was strong enough to tolerate it found them selfs being passed out for several days.
As for Yuji, he returned to be a torch just as he was before. But the main problem is that he didn't had Reiji Maigo with him. It was Johan's Hogu and it stayed with him. Having Shana passed out left him with little to no choice, he had to leave the city and find Reiji Maigo before he runs out of power of existence. He talked to Alastor about it and they both agreed that it would be wise to not let Shana know of his current situation. He left a note where he explained that he went off to fix everything and he asked her to stay in the city and protect it.


The collapse of balance was partly of Sairei no Hebis doing and partly something natural. When he and Yuji changed the truth of the world, a protective barrier have been broken, something Sairei no Hebi was expecting to happen, but never was sure of its existence. Cradle of Balance have been revieled to him and with the firs opportunity he escaped to that place.

The Cradle of Balance is giant palace created by those who created our worlds many many thousands years ago to act as balance keeper among the world. The whole palace have been abandoned and the only things that reminds there is crystals and advanced machines. They keep the balance between worlds and the float of power of existence.

So Sairei no Hebi uses his power of existence and this place and knowledge he obtain there to create a new world. He made an exact copy of our world and fuses it with crimson world in what he calls "paradise" with Cradle of Balance as its heart. But his creation is far from being perfect. His world compared to ours have no personality, people there is just mindless zombies that do what they told to do and have no personality or will of their own. For that Sairei no Hebi creates an unrestricted method that will complete his creation.

By disbalancing our world he weakens the barrier and can easily create portals between our worlds and sends his Rinnes to our world. They in turn devour our world and brings it to the other side. In Sairei no Hebis world, the pieces that he steal from human world, taking their place as they had originally had in human world. So the copies of people and places is gaining personality.
All the people continue living in Sairei no Hebis world without noticing anything, due to the fact that he is consuming city by city, country by country and continent by continent. A large furzes is being cast before consumption by his Rinnes, so no one notice anything. But in Sairei no Hebis world, all the people is controlled by him, he can change anything at any time and they all worship him as a God.
Sairei no Hebis goal is to become one true God for all beings, he could not become one in our original world due to inflexibility of rules and laws and his main reason "In order to create a better world, the old one have to be destroyed".

But Sairei no Hebi is lacking power of existence badly, he used his all Power of Existence to form his new world, so all his power is floating true that world and him but even that is not enough. He need more to fulfil his work. That why he sends dozens of Rinnes and servants to find Reiji Maigo.


The few flame hazes in their turn is trying to stop Rinnes and figure out what is going on.

Any way, now I am quite so sick of writing, so I stop here. If any one is interested I can continue some other day.

I have three volumes of the manga here with me, and the events are actually linked more closely to the novel material than anime. Go check again, friend.

Agreed. Wilhelmina and Margery Daw did not even appear in the manga. It's somewhat of an adaptation of the movie.

I must say, it would be really disappointing if Viz drops the novel. I really don't want Shana to suffer the same fate as Kino no Tabi. It would be just unreasonable. The good thing is that we don't know if Viz is dropping it or not. We'll just wait till June.

Wrong. The manga is still continuing, and it has just reached Margery's appearance.

the manga is currently at chapter 30. Is right after the Shana and Magrey's first meeting. And generally when any light novel gets adapted to an manga and/or anime form It flows out like this in my opinion. Novel>manga>anime.
Anime adaption is generally plagued with either dives in animation quality or fillers. Novel and mangas have the benefits of being able to convey the story and plot better than an anime(however the cost of this is of course time, manga and novels are far too slow) and both excels at showing the readers the character's inner thoughts when compared to its respective anime form. However like all things in this world there are exceptions to this , because i have seen several manga adaptions fall short of their anime counterpart. although i still have not found an anime adaption of a light novel that has outdone the novel or whatever its based from.

And damn, i really can't wait for vol17 to arrive. I finally managed to finish all the shana novels so i m all giddy about it right now. I WANT more damn it!!!!!

As for vol16 one of my favorite part was when yuji came back to the city and as he strolled through the city he came across all the landmark and locations that are important to him and how he speak so nostalgically of them. The new Yuji talk and act just like the old yuji. except now there is an distinct air of confidence and power surrounding him. Yuji now is truly a man with a goal and the power to achieve it. And as for the whole confession thing yuji was a bit rough on the sides but it was the most logical thing for him to do in his situation. For all her willpower, shana sure as hell was falling for yuji's words during those moments. I suppose Shana should just give up trying to talk Yuji out of the "dark side"or even killing him because at the current rate it seems to me that yuji would have a higher chance of convincing Shana to his side. thus Yuji would Kill two birds with one stone; having his love interest plus Keeping and essentially controlling one of the few beings that are a threat to him is a brilliant and devious move(using Shana's love for him to make sure Alastor is of no threat to his plans) befitting of the new dark Yuji. And at the end of this you can't but feel sorry for Yoshida as she seriously got the end of the stick in this one(although that chinese flame-Haze during the earlier part of Vol 16 got "the end of the stick" quite literally XD), the word despair sums up Yoshida really well, almost made me cry("almost" because i was so giddy fantasizing what the new and improved Yuji is gonna do to Shana. lol must not think dirty thoughts........)

You know, I wish I could tell you, since I did buy the book, but I'm one of those noobs who don't know Japanese. Haha, kind of makes you wonder why I bought the book in the first place (motivation to study Japanese?)...

The last portion of the novel is called "Zoetrope", with Chapter 4 of it being a manga chapter illustrated by 笹倉綾人 (who did the Shana manga series). Chapter 2 of it seems to be a 4-koma.

That's about all I can say, and I can't even guarantee that it's right... I'm pretty useless... ><
