I found the latest episode a tad disappointing... they cut out why Haru thought Taku was being a idiot, making Haru seem like it was just name-calling when there was more to that 'idiot' name - Taku reminded Haru he said they can't stay at kids forever, Chiyu needed to have chosen Taku in order to have a more fortunate life. Someone with good grades, good at sport, someone that can be shown off to her friends with pride - basically what Taku pushed himself to be. Haru on the other hand is a gamer and didn't push himself. Taku believed Chiyu had the right to be fortunate, not being stuck taking care of Haru.
Then Haru called Taku for being a idiot, which was shown in the anime about how Chiyu doesn't care about that. Also, Crow placing his head on KYH's chest... the LN at least had him doing that to check if the heartbeat he heard wasn't a illusion like he thought, out of genuine concern... not being someone that tries to take advantage of a unconscious girl, with that heartbeat scene AFTER he put his head down >.> Disclaimer: Spoilers, by definition, are about future content not yet released/aired. All info in this post not in a spoiler tag are alternate versions of what's already aired - therefore are not spoilers, ie 'future' content, and don't need to be in tags or be avoided. Speaking of spoiler tags... Spoiler for About that preview... (minor, unimportant future content in this spoiler tag about adaption colours):
EDIT: Though on the up-side, I enjoyed Black Lotus being animated and the detailed background Last edited by Flere821; 2012-05-05 at 02:09. |

Kaji Yuuki may finally have found his sweet spot as an actor. This is a role that demands overacting, and he's going to overact anyway. It's the least annoying I've ever found him in a lead role.

And another scene where I was disappointed is the dere scene of KYH in the hospital. It felt lacking they also cut the scene where she threatens Haru to forget the memory where he saw the picture in her wallet? ID? I remember the scene where black aura emits from her and threatens she will use her level 9 skill on haru's body to forget it

that head in the chest scene didnt feel perverted to me, cheesy yes, but not perverted, i saw it like haru just was just very sorry for failing, that scene of someone crying on the chest of (an usually dead)someone is very common.

And Guilty Crown. Do I have to blacklist Yoshino from adaptations too?
Butterfly Queen is alive and well already? Give me a break. Looks like my fear of last week's episode being terrible was right and it continues to have these asspull plot twists. I mean how the hell is she alive and well after effectively hinted to be either in a coma or paralyzed. She got hit by a friggin car and was bleeding pretty damn badly (not to mention the amount of bones she would have broken). And the whole Taku and MC battle was so "shoneny" it was hilariously bad. As was the "making up". Looks like I was expecting wrong things again . I'll give this one more episode. If it continues to have such "shonen" elements and asspull plot twists then I think I'll stop watching it. |

Another exciting episode today, although some scenes felt rushed and forced through.
When Silver Crow was holding onto Cyan Pile in mid air, with his arm sparkling electricity, I thought that the arm was going to fall off, too. It would have been epicly funny if Haru makes that speech to have Taku join them, only to lose his arm and Cyan Pile dies anyway. I felt they went overboard with Taku this episode, making him seem like the biggest self-centered bastard this year. Then his complete turn around to chicken mode and begging for his burst life made him look like a weak coward. How he recognized Haru as a Burst Linker right away was quite surprising, since I did not expect him to realize it was Haru yet. So Kuroyukihime has emerged as the black queen once again, and she has declared her legion, Nega Nebulous, active again. Does she still have followers? Or does she mean Silver Crow and now Cyan Pile? Two followers do not make a legion. As for the name Nega Nebulous, it most likely means a negative, reverse, or opposite nebula. It could also represent a cloud of negativity. Btw, Silver Crow is still level 1, right? This is going to be a long series. As for Kuroyukihime, she was in critical condition and in a coma like status. She broke out due to "hearing" Haru's voice, much like how coma patients hear people talking to them. However, I, too, felt that the recovery was too quick considering the severity of last week's episode. I understand that as long as she makes it through the critical stages, the nanobots will repair her body faster than how we currently, normally heal. Even then, her recovery and Taku's broken friendship then mending friendship were all too fast.

Man.. this is reminded me to Kamen Rider Ryuuki a lot, even some of duel avatar design is very similar lol
As for the episode itself, the story and especially the dialogue is still facepalm worthy but the production value still stellar as usual, so its enough to please me. And the "politics" in digital world actually intriguing, more focus to that instead haru bitching please.

I thought it was fine. The fight was pretty brutal and have to say damn Haru's armor is brittle. He really needs to avoid taking any heavy blows or at least going up against some opponent that's weak against his metal type. Some pretty dark emotions hidden away in Taku over the years. Can see where the jealousy came from with Chiyu worrying about Haru while she's dating him. Suppose the idea that a trio of friends can remain that while two members start dating isn't so easy to pull off.
Going to be one heck of an explanation to Chiyu later. Whether it be Haru who was snooping around to make sure she wasn't a brain burst user or Taku who was actively snooping on her with that backdoor program. It could get ugly . Quote:
Also think it's fine how they handled the heartbeat scene. Seems more likely that he'd hear a heartbeat while crying in her chest than just hearing a heartbeat from a distance and moving in to confirm it. Not sure how anyone could read the guy upset and crying as trying to take advantage of her. I mean come on the guy can't hide his motivations and thoughts that well .

I wasn't planning on posting but I think I'll have to because a lot of this episode felt rushed and I need clarification on a few thing:
1) So did Taku actually cheat in his competitions and think it was okay because Acceleration is his power anyway? 2) What's this about Taku's parent? Apparently she's captain of the Kendo club and a close aid to the Blue king? I thought the captains of clubs tended to be students also. And I also thought Burst Linkers could only be at most 15 years old. 3) What exactly is Taku's hate of Haru based on? Does he feel inferior because he knows his girlfriend likes Haru more than him, and so he convinces himself that he's actually superior in the real world? Or did he think he was superior to begin with and finding out that his girlfriend liked Haru more made him feel inferior? 4) Why does Haru think his "You're better in the real world and I'm better in Accel Wolrd" reasoning think it will work on Taku when Taku's hatred is based on his belief that he's lost to Haru in the real world? 5) Taku said he betrayed his own Legion and the Burst Linker rules. How so? If any of these are going to be explained in the next episode then just say that. No spoilers. Anyway the episode was okayish. Like others have said, this episode went out of it's way to make Taku look as pathetic as possible which was irritating, but the fight itself was pretty sweet. The choice of music when Haru was pouring his heart to a comatose KYH was just terrible though. That harmonica made the whole scene look narmish. And I hate that stupid yellow avatar with his laptop. His voice is just really bad and his use as Mr Exposition make the fights look like cliché shonen fights.
