minorin made me crack up here. Kitamura maannnnnnn lol
really enjoyed this OVA. many memories. ending scene was really nice too. I remember hoping for more RyuujixTaiga moments when they announced this ova. but having the whole gang together and bringing out the funny in the series turned out to be just as good. Great watch!

I was right that the OVA is a flashback episode that ends with a scene that takes place after the ending of the TV series. It explains why this episode is in the last disc of the BD box set. It starts with Taiga preparing bento for their Sakura viewing and this takes place after the ending of the TV series. After the OP credits it is a flashback of the time Ryuuji making bento very seriously. After the flashback the episode ends with them going Sakura viewing with Taiga bringing the bento she was making in the beginning of the episode and this part also takes place after the TV series.
It's obvious the opening scene takes place after the TV series since Taiga is being seen in an apartment different from the one where she used to live during the TV series. There was also a voiceover from Ryuuji during the opening scene stating about the day Ryuuji understood the importance of bento and so this suggests that it is a flashback after the OP credits. Sakura trees were blooming and Taiga left during their 2nd school year winter, suggesting the ending scene takes place during spring after their graduation which is further supported by the Taiga x Ryuuji moment seen in the ending. Though I wish we could see more of what happens after their graduation but it seems Taiga and Ryuuji are still together. Last edited by AP24; 2011-12-24 at 12:26. |

Feels nostalgic to watch this special after completing the TV series on years ago.
Most part of this specials is focused on food, quite amuse to see Ryuuji screwing himself to make a 'better' bento than the one made by Kitamura's grandma. And seems like Inko-chan is a big fan of AC Milan, he's even shouting Inzaghi's name, and 'mimicking' his shooting move, heh. Rating: 8/10 P.S: Consider to play its VN again (haven't complete it) after watching this specials. Last edited by abc0716; 2011-12-25 at 02:25. |

Did the portrayal of Minori change from the original show (or the source)? It has been a while since Toradora! aired, so my memory may be fuzzy. However, she seems even crazier this time and a bit similar to some of Mari Okada's original characters.
At any rate, I'm pleased with how the art and animation turned out. |

Spoiler:
Which is to say, anime Minori never got anywhere near as crazy as the novel Minori. |

Ryuuji is still just about the best male lead in any anime I've ever seen. He's equal parts a man among men, and a self-humiliation gold mine. I believe in wrestling terms it's called "knowing when to show your ass."

What a lovely little OVA to watch, indeed does bring back alot of fond memories of this great series(no doubt I'll watch the series again).
The rice cooker scene was hilarious, funny as hell but slightly cringe worthy simply cause of how absurd it is As ThereminVox says "He's equal parts a man among men, and a self-humiliation gold mine" His battle with a grandma over ben-to is oh so funny and oh so in season A great last hurrah for the series! Altho still gotta say my favorite couple is still Ryuuji X Ami, theres no love lost for her what so ever over the years!

Nostalgia filled me as I watched the episode. Taiga was adorable as ever and Ryuji was simply awesome. Not to mention crazy-Horie-Minorin and the rice cooker scene. Such a nice little present by JC Staff; one of the best extra episode I've seen for a series. They need to do more of this romance/comedy genre and not romance/action. Their shows can be sooo good when they do.
