My desktop work machine (Motoko) is using this image at the moment.... yes its a gnome death knight - fear with fear. (courtesy ThreePanelSoul webcomic site).
that wallpaper changes every few days or so. My game machine is named Etona on my network ... she almost always has some imagery related to the character Etona from Disgaea on her wallpaper. No I wasn't fond of the series -- just her and her undead penguins. Her figurine sits atop the game machine as well. Here's a pic of the machine, its wallpaper, and her.

I guess there is at least one Antec Skeleton out there owned by a married dude.
This is from NCC-1337-E, a hand down Athlon XP machine that handles the bulk of my computing duties at home. Too lazy to grab a screencap from my laptop at the moment. Edit: And also, no offense, but I have to admit I have trouble understanding the urge to change wallpaper every few days. |

2) For my purposes, it works fine - very easy to add and subtract hardware on a whim. It has a minor flaw and a major flaw: 2a) minor flaw: cabling can be a bit obnoxious unless you have a modular cable power supply and and a bit longer than average SATA cables. 2b) major flaw: it lacks headroom for some of the steroid monster CPU heat sinks. If your heatsink is taller than a video card, it won't fit. Limitation on heatsink diameter depends on the crap on the mobo. If you really MUST overclock significantly - you might look into liquid cooling. 3) No, its total overkill and pricey in the froufrou doodad department . Really its got a ridiculous price tag. But I like it because its damned quiet with that huge fan, its ultra easy to modify (which I tend to do a lot) and it actually collects far less dust than a standard case. Plus I just think it looks like a piece of art....

Also, I ran into one guy on my commuter train today that was carrying a fairly tricked out looking midtower - with no side panels on it. I couldn't help but think of this thread. Turns out I had a copy of my laptop wallpaper on this computer anyway, so I'll just post that. Only difference is that my laptop uses a 1280X800 version. And yeah, I do have some icons, but they're typical Windows XP stuff you've seen a million times before: |

Lil anime characters? Are you talking about the rainmeter? If so, that's just an application you download and you can either d/l or create skins for it. Sure thing:

Almost any wallpaper with Horo on it is an automatic win, of course.

That's really sweet... Is that from some piece of literature (stone golem and girl)? Don't suppose you could link the actual image file rather than a snapshot?

Spoiler for NSFW content on website:
Meant to say, pretty sure it's just an original piece. Guy does a lot of good work. Looking at charts too, mind going numb. Well, and since this is a desktop thread: Laptop: For triple screen, just the wallpapers: Have another desktop downstairs too that's a double, but it and my older laptop both just have the default blue. Plus a lot of clutter icons since my dear sister seems to like to use my den computer along with her den computer for various things... Not to mention finding both porn and neopets in my browser history... Last edited by Cluelessly; 2009-01-21 at 03:17. Reason: Double EDIT: Sorry Vexx, I kind of just scrolled through the page to make sure it was the right link. |

Particular favorites were the schoolchildren versus the schoolyard zombies, the several images of the 50s style "alien family", the several images of the warrior&schoolgirl duo, and the mounted pixie racing through the forest. Didn't care so much for the vampires or some of the schlock shock art. When i saw the children vs the schoolyard zombies, my first response was "..... Kyounogononi + Left4Dead Crossover!!"

(Was concerning a technical problem with Cuppy Cake's post, now fixed)
Nice sig, by the way. I actually used that picture of Koma as my wallpaper for a while. Last edited by 0utf0xZer0; 2009-01-22 at 03:23. |
