I like Inuyama and his humble mockery...his comment [and Jin's reaction] in the spa was hilarious, and his sword-draw was impressively and deceivingly fast. I really disliked the cheap "slash" animation initially (where you see the blade's attack path completely)...that was the only thing I didn't like about the duel.

I think those slash is part of the style, just like they were all drawn skinny and small eyes. It's like seeing an old samurai drawings. ^^

Not a ground-breaking difference, but I simply don't like the way the latter two have all those slash-paths instead of just a clean slice.

I have to agree. The slicing is beautiful. Just like in the first episode where both Mugen and Jin were hacking at the guards after they were about to be exsecuted. There was this shot of Mugen going through a building and you couldn't see him or the guards clearly. All you saw from the opening was the flash of the blade as it cut. It was just a nice effect to watch.

Yup, I like the slicing, too, but umm do you guys agree with me that slice with just the tip path looks better than slice with the entire blade path?

The only thing I'm kinda dissapointed in so far with Samurai Champloo is the music. It just isn't as good as Cowboy Bebop (different composer though obviously). This series is supposed to have hip-hop music but really the only hip-hop in it so far is the opening song.

The show is great, except for the opening and the anoerexic character designs. It took several people to knock me unconscious after listening to that op, as I was only seconds away from brutally slitting my wrist in an act of agony and horror. Fortunately, I regained my sanity during that time of unconsciousness, but I still think it is the worst OP ever. (musicwise)

Whoever taught the Japanese rap needs to be shot, right after whoever invented rap is.

Im not really into rap but i think the op is good ^_^ then again the only type of rap i dont like are the ones that are just about rims,girls,liqour and busting caps lol. But stuff like this is fine by me ^-^

Um...actually, it IS real rap. It's just done in the old school style. In the tradition of Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, and some other groups that were mentioned earlier. The kind of style you'd find back in the mid-late 80's. Which goes well with the whole old school hip hop theme they've got going on. In my opinion, that was when rap was at its best. Not the stuff that happened late 90's and today.

50cent is crap. Nas on the other hand is some good taste.

And I suppose you guys can figure out I like the OP. :p
