Last I checked, and this was a while ago, the publisher put the novel on hiatus and will probably end up have the last volume+epilogue since the backlash was pretty severe where up to 30% of the preorders were canceled before they stepped in and put the novel on hiatus to stop the canceled preorders. The backlash wasn't about the ending it was because the author literally teased from the beginning that a harem end was inevitable and then literally just like 2 volumes before he went full on single girl ending. Seriously the author is a fuckin' hack anyway trying to be clever with a twist only to have it blow up in his face.

Why so pissed off man?
To begin with, this novel is the author's, not haremfag's. We are the readers, so however the story turned out to be, we have to respect him for what he had done. I still can't forget the rage when I read Seo's manga, especially Kimi no iru machi. But I still look up to him. Besides, in Tsuki Tsuki! the story went just as he wanted, what was there to twist? You know what Tsuki means? It's fucking Moon.
Secondly, there are countless other harem novels out there with a single girl ending. What you said was "inevitable" was just to pander to haremfags and wish-fulfillment and keep the sale. It was TEASING after all. Furthermore, all kinds of love mentioned in the novel was family love except the one for Luna. I think it's pretty obvious since MC rejected other girls that this story is heading to Luna end, the one he cherished the most to the point of abandoning others. I read the whole 12 volumes 5 times already, no need for proofs.
In the chance that volume 13 does come out and it has a harem ending, I'll feel sorry for G.Yuujin because he cannot end his work the way he wants, assuming what I said is right. If not, I'm sorry for wasting your time with this fucking rambling.

You're actually off. You'd make perfect sense if Tsuki Tsuki was a personal project that the author did just for fun or out of passion, but he's making money out of his novel. We the readers are paying his bills for his work on the novel. It's for us that he's writing this story. This is a commercial work done professionally, not a hobby side project. The customers deserve to get what they expect.

I kind of agree with this. I view it this way, its like a private company going public. Now you have other people that you respond to even if you still wholly own the company.

Once an author makes his work commercial, will not being obliged to the fans per se, in reality that is exactly the case because if you piss off enough fans the money dries up and your sol.

I feel like the author is still entitled to do what he wants, but I also can't begrudge the fans for saying screw this, pulling support, and then the publisher saying game over man.

It's half correct, i'd say the story is created by the author, he do have the right to write wht he want, but the problem is, this author outright playing with the fan expectations and it blow it up to his face, normally, even if the story is 1 girl end, fan of other ship might feel sad, but they could accept why it happened

The thing is, the author was trying to push reader expectations too far, the story reach a consensus where the fan are satisfied, and the author just go, ha ha, how's that, it make a feeling quite similar to getting trolled

I saw the raw for the latest manga chapter release, and it's at almost the end of LN Vol 6. WTF!? It took the first 2 years for the manga to cover up to LN Vol 4. The manga skipped LN Vol 5 and it took the past 3 years to cover LN Vol 6. If the chapter releases had been consistent the manga would be at least at LN Vol 10 by now.

God the people defending the author make my brain hurt, what did you expect to happen once he done diddly pissed most of his readers? So i read this all the way through a while back and quite liked it. TBH i thought the story was over on the last volume for some reason. I just noticed this thread was up so checked what everyone was talking about and it seems the story wasn't quite finished? I never felt any problem with the story direction myself, I was a little disappointed that the other girls got family zoned but since that's how things ended up then I just went with it and enjoyed the story. While i liked all the girls i could understand the family setting, especially with El. Hijiri is probably the only one that i really wanted to see in a relationship but she'll move on eventually I suppose.

No. I'm serious I've heard that volumes were spent getting the parents and the girls to accept the harem, and that they even spent 1 volume convincing the MC's mother to allow it. Listen, I can get going for a single girl ending but for the love of god don't have every goddamn sign pointing towards a harem ending and then pulling a bait and switch like that, and even rubbing salt in the wound by stating that he never intended a harem ending.
