I heard somewhere (I forget) that the definition of evil is the absence of love. Kaname clearly loves Yuuki, so I don't see him as an evil being. He's no angel, but certainly not evil. I know of one anime fan who detested him and then read the manga and had a total change of heart. As time goes on and anime viewers see more of him and know more of him, they may look at him in a whole new light.

I really hope that would happen !! I mean the changed of heart towards kaname
believe me I read a lots of comments from some people who only saw the anime .. most of them hate kaname and said he's a bastard , have an evil aura .. etc ... <<<< this is only an example for what they said ._. !!

and some of them who read the manga , told those to keep this idea about kaname..

till now what I see everywhere , people only judge with there feelings
all the characters have there good points and bad points ..

and of course we also do !! no ones perfect ..
what I wish .. is something good to end this story .. something unique ..

I don't hate any characters .. I just hate some of their acts specially if they keep on ...

I read chap 39...my opinion of Kaname hasnt changed

As I said in the Zero discussion thread, finding out he used Zero for four years didnt surprise me at all, infact I expected it. We all know he hates Zero so why is it such a shock to find out he used him?? It wasnt to me at all, when its revealed I went, "figured". Course chap 35 didnt surprise me either, at this point I dont think VK can throw anything at me that will make me go wtf anymore

i really don't care that other people say that he's changed and that their opinion on Kaname changed just because of one chapter because he's still the same to me.

Kaname's actions can be justified by the circumstances that he lives in. He's a Vampire prince (Original Kuran Vampire prince/ruler) that's caught up in a deadly game of Vampire politics. Because of that, he is forced to manipulate whoever and whatever he can to keep one step ahead of his enemies.

But, he is also willing to kill or sacrifice anyone if he thought it would further his ends. Whether it be Takuma, Ruka, Seinen, or anyone except for Yuuki. He probably would not hesitate to kill all his Night Class friends if he thought it would help him in some way.



I have a question that I'm probably wrong about. We always see flashbacks of the snowy night 10 years ago when Kaname saves Yuuki from a vampire. But, we also see Aidou's flashback of him giving Kaname condolences after Kaname's adopted parents died.

During Aidou's flashback, we see a Kaname that is still basically a child. At the snowy night, Kaname looks much much older. But, the snowy night is supposed to be the night when Kaname's adopted parents died. How is he a child when Aidou gives condolences to him???

it's simple , if what u say is true , then tell me this :
why kaname didn't kill shiki or hurt him when rido did use his body ?? or anyone else ??

he didn't do it , he choose to give his blood to rido than hurt shiki ...
yeah it's true they follow kaname and respect him .. but it's doesn't mean
that kaname will go that far , like killing them ..

he could also kill aidou if he wants cuz he keeps bother him etc etc

yes he use zero and gave him power .. I think he did this cuz he knows that his brother + rido will go after zero 2 ... " zero may have something who knows why his brother came and shoot him " .. also kaname knows that zero will be a vampire lvl E from a long time , and he will die sooner or later ..

this power now for zero I think he can ignore what kaname said ..and
use it for himself ...

I'm sure a lots of things is missing , till hino tell us more .. we need to wait ...

Hmmm, I thought Kaname couldn't harm or kill Rido because Rido is his master? Kaname can't touch Rido personally, even if Rido was in Shiki's body. That's the whole reason why Kaname formed and shaped Zero for four years in the first place: to be his weapon so Zero could kill Rido.

Edit: Nevermind, Kaname could kill Shiki, but he can't kill Rido. Actually, Kaname tried to kill Shiki, but Ichijou saved him.

I was alwasy iffy about Kaname. But then I bought volumes 1-4 since that's all that is available in America. I know that I shouldn't be talking about the manga, and I'm not... I just want to say that my change of heart for the guy was during Volume 3/Episode 7... when you see the past of Yuuki and Kaname. He's just too kind to her that I fell in love with him at instant.

What I hate about this anime/manga is I'm torn between two characters. This is the first time I have ever loved both love interests... The FIRST time. It's hard to keep watching because I know in someway I will be disappointed in the end... unless they all die so Yuuki can't choose. But that would just be a crappy ending altogether... D:

Same here.I usually don't have that problem when picking who I like more,but I've been wavering over one and the other alot.I can see both their good/bad qualities and I just can't hate Zero and Kaname.
