So apparently Panda Mama aka Toshiyuki Morikawa will be singing the next ending. I am enjoying Penguins for now though. It's probably my favorite since Bamboo Scramble.

Whats worse about that whole bit is that the Penko's started to wear the different colored ribbons yet Penguin still can't be arsed to remember their names

But they traded ribbons...give the guy a break. I can't tell them apart either.

Penguins know nothing about art...

After this week I am increasingly convinced that Grizzly is tsundere for Polar Bear.

One last thing. Was I imagining it, or was the guy with the glasses and the beret who entered the art gallery supposed to be Osamu Tezuka?

Edit: Now I've had time to compare, yes, that was definitely meant to be Osamu Tezuka.

Brilliant reference, there. ten out of ten for style!

Although he must have been looking for the gallery down the street with an exhibit by his distant relative Rin...

Looks like we are getting prize figures for Shirokuma Cafe

I spot Polar Bear, Panda, Penguin, Grizzly, and Llama

How the hell did Penguin get the funds to put on an art exhibit with such obvious rip offs? Normally artist need a lot of money or at least a sponsor in order to rent a location. His parents must be loaded or something since he obviously has no job

Maybe Penguin's an eccentric billionaire.

Utter brilliance. Shame on me for missing that.

MC469MA needs to do the next ED. And get his own image album.

Word!

Not so keen on the first part this week, but MC469MA more than made up for that.

Holy crap, that second chapter was brilliant. The whole adolescent "fierce beast" metaphor, and then MC469... Wow. And that may be the first time anyone has gotten Sakurai-san to sing. Can an ED be far behind?

Sakurai doesn't sing a lot but he has sung before. He is one of the singers on both the Disney collections.

But anyways as someone who generally does not like rap, Shirokuma's rap was awesome. Hoping there will be a single of that. And yes he better get an ending song.

Great second part. I enjoyed these old guys talking about past and it's cool to see sometimes Grizzly's bar regulars.

Hey, look, new OP! The song isn't as catchy as the first, but I think the animation is more interesting -- something about Sasako riding her bike reminds me of the Hanasaku Iroha OPs, but then a giraffe walks by in the background and it's hilarious.

As for the episode itself, it's kinda retreading familiar material (we just had a sports episode a couple weeks back) but Polar Bear's Ichiro story was go great it made up for it. As for the middle part ... you know, it's bad enough that I know those beans exist without having to see it animated.

I liked the first opening more: both visuals & songs but maybe I just have to get used to it. The first opening was one of my favorites of the season.

The new ending is just okay as well. Its Panda Mama singing.

Anyways I really liked the episode, lots of funny sight gags (especially loved the giraffes)

I want to try the bird/wild cat poop coffee just to see if its worth the pricetag

Also Polar Bear clearly cheated his way to victory. If it were a major league game his team would have been disqualified on the spot. Granted you don't see to many squirrels playing baseball in the majors now a days...

Liked the new opening, although I do kind of miss the Polar Bear X-Wing...
The new ED is quite visually inventive, too.

I loved the bit about coffee, I can see that as being quite educational if you didn't know much about coffee. I'd heard of Civet coffee (a friend of mine really wants to try some) but not Jacu coffee.

The baseball thing I'm not so keen on. It had its moments, like the Giraffe Pyramid that caught out Polar Bear's second attempt at a home run, but still it's baseball.

(Why couldn't the Japanese have taken up a civilised sport like Cricket. I mean, they play proper football, and rugby, so why not cricket? Those five day test matches would be ideal fodder for shonen manga which go on forever)

I kinda have the same opinion for the new opening : sweet but not as cool as the first one. However it's a pleasure to watch Sasako-san riding her bike.
Episode itself is fun and has surprisingly some nice animated cuts with exaggerated motion and effects.

Someone made up a nice seiyuu chart for this series: you know just as a reminder of how awesome the voice cast is
