It occurs to me again that if they can build that, the only thing preventing senshado teams from fielding battalions of E-100s is the rules.

Well, also common sense.

They could probably have fusion-powered hovertanks if they wanted to.

Funding too. Richer schools obviously have advantage in this regard. I've always thought that Saunders can break out Pershings and Super Pershings to counter the Tigers and Panthers, for example, if they wanted to.

But in the wider context... schools can't afford to field certain tanks, but they're roaming the oceans on ships that are competitive in size with Manhattan. boggles

I'd check in the ballast sections. Who knows what sort of things are down there keeping the academy ship upright.

Pravda's ship is twice the length, so it would be around 8 times the volume and displacement!

Count the internal space, and the ships should be quite a bit more actual living space than Manhattan. Just imagine how much fuel (or nuclear power) is going to be needed to move these things.

I'm pretty sure there's technology for starships in this world. I bet there's structural integrity fields, tractor beams and turbolifts running through all the ship.

And Jeffrey's Tubes. Can't build a ship without Jeffrey's Tubes.

Again, fusion-powered hovertanks.

Or "Yes, I'm thinking of some unimaginable crossover of Hammer's Slammers and senshado."

And now for something completely different.

Come to think of it, maybe Anchovy never gets any air time because she's actually wearing trousers, unlike everyone else.

I think this series opened up to a variety of new ideas...

Next, we might have Girls und Kriegsraumschiff. Though if they do that, they'd probably have to limit to just one meta-verse, like the Gundam franchise. Adding anything else to the mix would utterly kill the balance.

But hey, a Gundam vs. series in this light would be a fan's dream come true.

Saunders probably had their own concerns. Nonetheless, according to official materials, Saunders is the richest school and possess the most tanks. Yes, they do have multiple Fireflies available to them.

Why they didn't break all of them out during their match against Oorai? Well, most likely due to plot-induced-stupidity...

Then again, having multiple super tanks does not guarantee victory, seeing how the flag tank is really the goal here.

Well Saunders can't employ American doctrine in senshado. American tanks were not suppose to engage enemy tanks directly according to doctrine. That was the job of the tank destroyers. But American tank destroyers are open topped tanks with larger guns (and generally faster than the Shermans). Being open topped makes them unsuited for sports use as the crews can't be defended with the carbon coating. You won't see a M10 TD running around with the M4 Shermans, so they need the Firefly instead at minimum if they decide to not just overpower their opponent with Pershings.

Not really, T28 only weight 86 tons, as half as Maus, even lighter than a 410mm gun of Iowa class Battleship (each 410mm gun weight 108 tons). And the Ship like Oorai can carry hundreds of thousands tons on it.

BTW, did senshado allow to closed the open top turret of any TD like US's M10, M18, M36 or GER's Nashorn, Dicker Max and Sturer Emil? If they can be closed their open turret and join senshado, it will be great.

Take note that the Semovente 75/18 that Anzio fields is open-topped, so yes I assume that open-topped vehicles are also allowable.

No it isn't. The 75/18 has a massive hatch on top, but it can still be closed to cover the vehicle's insides. It's not "open top" in the sense that the entire crew compartment is open.

The only one of the US turreted TD's that can participate is likely the M36 Jackson, since it did have an armor kit that gave it an armored roof for its turret.

But Slugger's armoured roof in history is still not really closed, it stilll leave a gap between it's roof and turret hull.

If they decide to show some of the Anzio fight I would assume it would be in OVA 4. At which point we'll see what they decide to do with the fight animated, since the tiny bit in the anime is different from the manga.

I can't quite tell, but el Duce Anchovy might be a sore loser. (Chapter 9 of the manga isn't translated)
