Wakamoto voice terawarasu wwww

Comparing the OP and the ED, while KOTOKO's OP is great in itself, I prefer MELL's ED melody line.

I'm just glad they kept the anime in jokes. That's partly what makes HtCB so funny.

Just watched episode 1, it's like Chrno (Chrno Crusade) meet Louise (Zero no Tsukaima).

Pretty hilarious in a crazy way. I love the part where Hayate's inner angel were the one that suggested the kidnapping while his devil tries to stop him.

I prefer the ending song too. Apart from the evil angel & naive demon joke, I found the schemes proposed by the yakuza quite amusing too.

awww... I'm kinda disappointed at the "confession" scene. Hayate should've been more dramatic like in the manga xD... They censored a lot of blood(during the chase and after the chase) aww.

Everything seems to be really rushed.
I think they put 3/4 of the first manga in two episodes.

This episode fails for not having this.

I mean, you have a bike and a scarf. Plus red eyes. Where's the Rider Kick!?

[/ignorethis]

Kamen Rider fanboyism aside, it was a decent episode, mostly for Wakamoto awesomeness. Seriously, has there ever been a narrator so awesome he steals the spotlight?

I still think that spot deserved a Rider Kick though. :P

Although they changed some scenes, notably Hayate lying about the twintailed girl he didn't see to Maria, I was very satisfied with this first episode.

After all those in-your-face anime references by SHAFT, it was good to see some blink and you'll miss it parodies inserted in Hayate. There was that Gendo Ikari boss, the witch Dorothy from MAR in a hooker poster....

The seiyuu were perfect, as was the narrator. The animation was also noticeably better than what I'd seen in the PVs.

They stayed pretty faithful to the manga, but the character designs aren't quite up there with the the manga yet. Hayate looks good, but Maria and Nagi have room for improvements.

The VAs did a great job, espeically Hayate's. The narrator was awesome as well. This show should be a lot of fun in the upcoming episodes.

P.S. Can't wait to see Hinagiku make her appearance.

The one thing that stood out the most for me was how amazingly good the soundtrack was throughout the ep. The voice acting was superb, Nagi's voice is perfect. I thought the animation was really good, especially considering half of it is supposed set up for comedic scenes.

Animated Nagi is definately fun to watch.

The name of the narrator voice didn't really tell me anything until I looked at a youtube clip and listened to the voice.

The soundtrack reminded me a lot of James Bond movies(or insert classic spy movies).

I wish they kept Nagi's design. She looked better in the manga =/

Is that feeling relates to "Urusai Urusai Urusai" .

Even of there are noticeble parodies, I wonder if it will get to the level in the manga which makes it so great a read. At least we should be able to get all the Gun*** ones hopefully.

This was actually very well done. I've read the manga, and I think they've done it justice.

BTW, the narrarator's tsukkomi were very well done.

I got the same feeling as well, as with Maria. But they really nailed Hayate's character, his facial design and his voice are all optimally done.

I feel strange about this, considering all the praise, but I was disappointed by that first episode. The humor didn't reach me, and even the voice acting -- much as I love the three main seiyuu -- didn't appeal to me. I thought maybe sound director Watanabe Jun got them to do the wrong voices, at least for me (clearly not for other people, though).

But the show does have at least two great hooks: the chara-des of the sweet young rich girl, and the idea of the invincible, somewhat "unlucky" but really capable, young butler.
