Pretty decent ending to an average series. Nothing to write home about but it was entertaining enough to watch all 13 episodes. It suffers a lot of problems that come along with the game/VN to anime adaptations. Namely they try to include all the characters from the various game paths that don't really need to be there to tell the story of the path they choose to animate. That's probably why a lot of people get that disjointed feel from this show.

I really tried guys i really did and i had hoped that this ending would not be as predictable as i original thought it would, to my disappointment the whole episode was. But to my delight Sana's past was reveled and we were all right about the suicide. He and Nanaka do make a perfect couple they have matching scares now.
Now one thing i had not foreseen was how truly tragic Nanaka's past was. To think she was a love child and not the child of the father she had always know. That aspect was keep hidden fairly well and that made me give this episode a higher rating than what i was planning. We see why those memories were blocked out, she witnessed not only her mother getting the shit beat out of her but the confession that her violin teacher was really her father. Then she witnessed her so called father dousing the house and set it on fire. That would traumatize anyone. Im not sure if her mother was already dead before the house went up. But that shot of her laying on the floor showed her beat to death or unconscious. Im thinking she was out cold so at least she didnt suffer. 10 year jump very predictable and Aoi has not changed a bit not even her DAMN voice. I cant believe they opted to keep Asami in the picture but never show a reuniting of the twins. No back story nothing about what they have been up to for the past 10 years im sorry but they dropped the ball on that one. But we see Shuu and Shuri still holding hands so its obvious they are still close. Nanakas concert i felt was a good ending because of how the series started with her gift of music to Sana. We all knew they were either get married or would already be married so im happy for them. However i feel the series should have been longer if they were planning on involving so much drama. Aoi's role was reduced to cooking meals and Hinako did not get half of much screen time as she deserved. Over a fun series but not the best put together or thought out imo 6/10 Thank god i still have Kimikiss

I meant to give this an 8 but I accidentally gave it a 10 . "Not so great" is the first thing that comes to mind when watching this episode. As stated before, everything was happening way too fast. When Sana confessed his past to Nanaka and everything was kind of settling in, I was almost 90% sure there was going to be a touching scene between them. Then, "10 Years Later" popped up on the screen and an eye-brow raising from me occurred. The proposal was -- lame. "Oh yea, here's a ring, be my wife k?" was pretty much what the viewers got out of it. Yuzuki has mastered the secret to immortality. Hinako goes out with guys 5 years younger than her (you'd think she'd know how Shuu felt, but no). Asami has found a new love interest in Aoi?? And in a tragic twist of fate, Shuu and Shuri lost their faces in an automobile accident. Which is good, because now they won't have to look each other in the eyes when they are doing their sinful acts every night in their 1-bedroom, rent controlled apartment that smells of failed dreams and cheap deodorant.
All-in-all, could have been lots better. It succeeded in making we want to get the game, but it failed in the sense that I won't get the game regardless. Maybe if a convenient translation were to surface years down the line, who knows? |

Maybe in later years but no i dont want Asami to corrupt the only normal person left. Even if her voice sounds like death coming on swift wings.

Bleh, I would have preferred a goofy montage showing the future of our cast, but the last episode left me with the feeling that this was final, and an inkling of open-endedness since we're left wondering if our cast ever takes the chance to reunite once again. Sana, whose original intent was to regress to his former self, instead found a reason to move forward. And yes, Nanaka, life is made of happiness and sadness, love and pain, triumph and disappointment, meetings and partings. But among all these there is always hope. Yes, humanity is a union of experiences and feelings! It is with these one bores a path towards their future! Just what do you think we are? |

Well, I shouldn't be surprised that the final episode once again demonstrated this show's propensity for sudden plot shift by introducing entirely unknown factors. A brand new character is summoned forth in the final episode's flashback, just to explain why Nanaka's house burned down. Most people would consider it wrong to introduce a new character in the final act as a plot device, but at this stage all I can do is shrug.
Yeah, he was briefly mentioned in the episode 1 as having helped Nanaka compose her song. The idea that the nameless and faceless piano teacher was a pivotal character in Nanaka's hidden past is just ludicrous to introduce in the final episode. Ah well, at least I had fun talking about this series. Now to delete the episodes and never look back at them. Not necessarily if you are entrusting him to an old friend whose daughter was part of his happy childhood. It works for me. Especially since she talked to him every day. She was a better mother than most in anime.

The series began very well then started to enter the world of average blandness towards the end. The last two episodes were quite unimpressive and didn't even try to leave a lasting impression at all.
Overall the series was interesting, offering several unique relationships (I really liked the story behind the twins - even if a bit incestuous, it was my first time encountering such a relationship in an anime). However, the overall driving story leaves much to be desired. So yea, the anime is noteworthy, but not something I'd recommend to any friends right off the bat. Oh yea, OP and ED are quite good. |

I'm surprised at how understated people's reactions ITT have been to the timeskip. Let's not pull punches on this. The timeskip was f***ing terrible.
It really felt like a case of: "suddenly... without warning... and they all lived happily ever after". Sorry, no, I don't buy that. Not messed up characters like these. All of these characters were still at least some distance from being resolved. Do we really buy that Sana and Nanaka have recovered from their suicidal depression just because they have each other now? I don't... relationships between depressed people are rarely totally healthy. Do we really buy that Hoshino will quit being manipulative and obsessive just because she was caught at it once? No way, this is something that takes time and, in many cases, proper mental health treatment to overcome. Do we really buy that Shuusuke and Shuuri running away from their family will lead to happily ever after? Hell, I don't even have to point out what's wrong with this. In fact, that's would have arguably been the most interesting thing in their story: how they cope with life after running away. But, no, instead the audience is asked, begged in fact, to assume that it's all happily ever after for them... and everyone else as well. C'mon. Give us a break. The rest of the ep was much of the same melodramatic soap opera plot twists that we've gotten used to from this series, so it's not really worth commenting on. But the ending... ugh... just terrible. Most people cry at endings that are good. I almost cried because this was so bad. Quote:

re: Sana's parents...
It doesn't take much of a leap to work out a scenario that supports his situation. They need to keep their jobs. I know it is a thing we all love to have, but hey it isn't that easy to keep a job and a family life. They had to move from their town 5 years ago for what ever reason, but my bet it was work related. They had to put Sana up through private school which costs a wee bit more meaning that if they are not affluent they really need their jobs or need to take out a loan. Then they see their son still suffering. Remember the suicide didn't happen last week. So they allowed him to live back in his home to hopefully regain his ability to socialise. And it actually worked! What would you do? Let him stay locked up in his room and become a hikimori, well at least you know he is safe... Throw away your jobs and not be able to support a life? You know what is one of the most important parts of parenting? It is called letting go.

easier said than done...i dont know if you are a parent or not but i cant do it - not in that situation, a 15 years old out to kill himself.....its just not an option...i mean he couldnt make a sane decision so he try to take his own life, what makes me think he can make decisions living by himself.....a kid that confuse i would not let him live by himself...15 years is too young after a suicidal attempt to be living by himself...maybe if he was little older maybe japense culture is different i dont know, my USA influences - chinese culture and upbringing states otherwise Last edited by bbduece; 2007-12-27 at 00:33. |

I think people are forgetting something about this ending.
I'm just glad they gave the anime a happy ending. It could have been a school days ending or something worse- a really really sad ending. Nanaka could have died, Sana could have gone insane, the twins could have been in an accident and died, etc. So I'm pretty satisfied with the way it all turned out. It felt like the anime still needs a little more but I'm just glad it ended happily. Now if the anime ef- a tale of memories would be subbed so I could watch the ending before new year then my year would be complete. |

The mysteries of the watch have been revealed, but I didn't imagine it to be by bullying. The ending was pretty satisfying, but I felt that most of it was just fluff and not much substance.
Why does Yuzuki-sensei not age!?

Spoiler for placed in spoiler for length:
Well Skyfall pretty much said everything I would've liked to, but since i pretty much SUCK at writing a nice "article" like him/her, I will just stick to my quick little comments. The ep was pretty much acceptable, I was right about someone burning the house to cover up a dead body, but I guessed it was grandpa killed son, meh, close enough. Btw, she was dead first right? Who really knows? black blood, black oil, is it only oil? or some blood? oh well. Now before my next part (rant?), I would like to mention I love it when anime gives an epilogue, with that said. Now, i would've givin this ep maybe, say a 9. But the ending totally ruined it for me, 10 yrs? wtf? to far, give me something like 5... Besides, Hinako only looks 5 yrs older, and about her, damn! NO! To me, that hair style does not suit her with that mature body. Aoi still the same, voice didn't mature at all... *shivers* Didnt get to see Sana propose, oh well. Didnt bother show the faces of the twins, what's the point in that? But the thing that annoyed me the most about this ep is the "concert". First of all, I hated that the animation was much to obvious (or didn't even try) to match the melody of the violin. And second, I don't know if it's maybe poor sound quality, but that peice was so bland.... I even tried listening to it without watching the anime itself thinking what I was seeing was making me dislike it... Didn't work . Being a violin lover (not a fanatic tho ) it just annoyed me and made me rate it lower. Give me the animation quality of Haruhi concert anyday (strange I only nitpick about animation quality when it comes to music ). But since I liked how everything was (kinda) before the 10 yr skip. I shall give this a... 7/10 EDIT: Forgot... DAMN! Nanaka became such a beauty! EDIT2: Wait... did I just write a nice "article"? lol |
