Any news when it will air yet? I'm hoping Fall, so we won't have to wait that long.

Nah, no news of its broadcast date yet.

I updated the first post with the covers of volume 9 and 10 of the manga.

More insanely wacky happenings under the much beloved Arakawa Bridge. Very nice, let the crazy begin once again

Finally officially announced, eh?

Second best news I've heard this week (the other one was England getting eliminated from the World Cup).

This is great. Considering how SHAFT rarely does a series over thirteen-fifteen episodes nowadays, the fact that we're getting a second season of this maybe the beginning of commitment for them.
Regardless, I'm looking forwards to this. Probably my third favourite SHAFT anime, and I get to see more of Ric, Nino and the Bridge gang's ridiculous antics.

What?

Hidamari Sketch was three seasons and a few OVA's.
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei was three seasons and a few OVA's.
Natsu no Arashi was two seasons.
Pani Poni Dash was 26 episodes.

The only recent SHAFT show that didn't have a second season were Vampire Bund, Bakemonogatari, and Maria Holic.

Recently for me is within four years, and Pani Poni Dash is outside that. And what are all those other series? Twelve or thirteen episode seasons, with one season per year. Actually, there was a two year break for Hidamari, between x 365 and x Hoshimittsu. The exception to this was Natsuhi no Arashi.
What I'm hoping for is that the confirmation of a second season this early indicates the next one will come within a season or two, which seems like an improvement on SHAFT's part.

SZS had all of its versions within a season or few of the previous, and I'm pretty sure S2 was greenlit before the end of S1, so it's in the same boat as Arakawa.

And then there's EF, which also had multiple seasons (don't know about the timetable of when S2 was announced), and Negima!?, which had its 26-episode run way back in late 2006-early 2007.

With their small staff, we're unlikely to see any One Pieces, or even an FMA out of them, but multiple seasons for Shaft is nothing new.

Let me teach you the infallible magic words for gaining respect on the internet: "Oh, well, I guess I was mistaken." These words work every time. Situational logic and fluid arguments (rarely =/= recently and multiple seasons = multiple seasons)...not so much.

Now this is news I'm glad to hear. Hope it's coming soon, but as long as I know second season is coming sometime in the future I'm satisfied . Hopefully we will get to know more about the characters backgrounds, especially Nino's.

So happy! I was worried this wasn't going to get a second season. First season was just fantastic.

Curious, I don't read the manga, does the later Arakawa have more recurring characters than those shown in season 1?

So that makes two Shaft series in the fall. Though I'm waiting on the OP/ED singers. They might get Yakushimaru and Suneohair again, but anything's possible.

Yeah same singers.
I'm satisfied since they did a great job with the 1st season (specially the ED ).
