its like wearing a magic ring that absorbs magic spells and you just casted a magic spell on yourself soo practically you did not gain nor lose magic which is kinda the point of it right???

while in natsus case his magic was returned to him with a greater force and with aditionnal stuff in it

You can't say that without knowing the effects it would have. For some wizards, it probably would increase the power. Don't say such things when you're uncertain of the outcome.

The second it touched the frying pan it turned into the mercenary's magic (although they never said they're mages...) so after having its attribute changed and the power amplified, it could count as different. Anyway, as a final statement, it wasn't in the manga and adaptations always got a mistake here and there, but this wasn't necessarily one.

It should be noted that Natsu doesnt neccessarily need to eat fire to perform those attacks, its more of "fill-me-up" than anything. This will be made clearer in future fights when fire isnt really on hand from anyone but Natsu.

I took him eating fire as not a necessity to preform his magic attacks but gives his abilities somewhat of a boost. Its like if you set a city of fire with good wind the fire is even more deadly spreads faster and burns hotter. Fire eating is not catalyst for his magic but somewhat of a magic helper.

I started reading the Del Rey manga releases earlier this year and was pleasantly surprised to find out that there was an anime for this show now!

I just watched the first two episodes and it looks like they followed the comic relatively closely. Though I must admit, I imagined Happy having like an old man's voice... XD

And thank god for that since this arc was just weak, especially compared to the one coming up next, which is where Fairy Tail actually starting becoming better than decent imo. (<3 Erza) It also boggles me that some people are complaining about this being too fast.. like most 18-20 page shounen action manga it needs to adapt at least 2-3 chapters per episode if possible. The last thing we need is one episode = one chapter with padded bs.

If this was 2 chapters than the episode would've been from Lucy in the bathtub to the Duke going how do I kill those mages, what a great episode that would've been.

Spoiler for Episode 04:

Nice end to the daybreak arc, followed by some filler material. It wasn't serious filler, though it wasn't that forced and fun to watch, plus it tied in nicely with the next arc.

Favorite parts this week has to be Happy's reaction to the crab saying ebi. Yet again i laughed oh so much then i did in the manga. Oh, and the fortune teller fight with Gray made me laugh so much, along with classic Gray with only his boxers on straight after.

Really liked the music used for the flashback scene, and the truth behind the daybreak book. Now that is classic Takanashi Yasuharu.

Erza appears at the end of the episode, and it'll be her time to shine next week!

Man i have to say i like this series a lot. I watched episode 3...and i was a bit curious as to what happened next so i found the chapter...and then i was like HmMm, i wonder what happens next, so i went on to the next chapter...and i kept thinking oh damn, what happens next!?!? so i kept going...and in 2 days i was on chapter 150 or something lawl

And i told myself i wasn't going to spoil myself too much so that i could just enjoy the anime...but the manga was just that hooking for me

Well it should be a good episode next week. I mean we already spent time with Natsu and Gray discussing how terrifying she is. Normal things like being able to "blow away a mountain into 3 pieces with a single kick."

Anyways seems Lucy has truly joined Fairy Tail. A building has been destroyed while she was on the job. Sure it was only one building and not a huge section of a city, but she's new and has to work her way up .

A pretty nice conclusion to the arc. Liked the spell being undone on the book. Too bad about the first job being a strike in terms of pay, but it turned out pretty well overall.

The filler material felt kind of awkward to me, and the re-used animations with Natsu's abilities is starting to annoy me.

I think they'll only be using the long version of natsu's skills on filler-time, and next episode up comes the next arc!

Interesting choice of filler, although it wasn't exactly painful or anything. I guess they wanted to introduce Gray as a more important character slightly earlier? Which is slightly odd since they're still hiding his magic for whatever reason. I really liked the fortune telling though.
