Actually the cutting of the topknot is most associated not with death, but with a loss of social status. That makes perfect sense with Netero, as he's just declared himself "challenger" and admitted that he's weaker than his opponents.

Oh! Well, I learned something new again. I always thought it symbolized death for seeing Japanese in media cutting their top knots before they ask their companions to kill them or when an assassin comes with the knot of his victim as proof of his deed.

It can mean that too, but primarily it's a social status issue.

Perfect example of this is in season two of Avatar: The Last Airbender when a certain banished prince cut himself off from his homeland and cut off his topknot to signify he was an outcast

There seems to be a broadcast delay with H x H this week, possibly due to Koshien. I can't find any source indicating it's off altogether (it's supposed to be next week, though). Don't know for sure when #93 is airing.

Crunchyroll's simulcast is still scheduled at its regular time so it should be airing sometime soon, if not a bit late

So excited to see how Killua fares against Rammot all by his lonesome. I think that this is his make or break moment in this series

And the sick Chimera Ant King overthrows a dictator... well, there's a tendency to replace one dictator for a worse, but dang. Also, hot Palm and ladies' man Gon I didn't expect.

Also, I kept getting not only Gon x Palm vibes, but if I didn't know any better, maybe even Gon x Killua. >.> Killua reminded me of Lan stalking Madoka in Lagrange.

That made me laugh.

Also, they really need to get rid of those bastard roaming ants.

You can't really call Meruem a dictator. I mean he treats humans like cattle. That's not what a dictator does.

The episode was epic. Funny! Palm has changed drastically. Is that even Palm.

Killua was a stalker. And Gon's "secret" was very suprising... Their scenes were cute though.

And so, the king will grow more powerful at the end.

So the King has a castle now. Gon being a ladies man was surprising, but somehow it fits him. Palm should always look like that! Killua really is tormenting himself, wonder how he'll fare against Rammot. For a second i though the newscaster was an ant-soldier. Nice to hear the Knuckle and Shoot captured Kite, though Knuckle being nice again and Gon thinking Kite would be fine. Maybe there's a nen that can revive the dead.

You can tell that because one: we don't see them detailed from the front and two, when we do see them from the front it is from a distance but you can spot some navels here and there. The anime changed their outfits with these one piece swimsuit leotards thingies. Spoiler for Blood bath: In the manga we got this one page of a blood shower! Why we didn't see that in the anime?!! Spoiler for The king is hungry!: Now this change I don't mind! The quick montage is add in. Spoiler for First instance of censorship in the manga: Now I'm pretty sure some of you heard of instances of gore censorship in the manga. Well, here's our first thing. You can notice the dark screentone used to cover the intestines. In the first manga run it didn't have the screentone, but it was obscured by the logo Even though before that it wasn't that censored Spoiler for More censored gore in the manga: I mean.... wow! --- Spoiler for A bigger threat is coming: Spoiler for And this is why: you don't befriend a Sadako girl... ever!! Spoiler for Can Palm get cuter than this?: Stay tuned folks...! Spoiler for But not now!: Admit it... he got balls of steel!! --- Spoiler for At the gym: Not sure if you'd like to see something like this next to you... do you know how bad it'll feel like? To be outdone by two kids standing next to you?!! Spoiler for And some questionable content!: Notice in this scene when Gon says he was taught "things" you can hear him say "ero ero". And if you've been an anime fan for enough time, you'll get what he means... and it'll raise a lot of questions in your head about his past life and dare I say sexuality and if he knew what he was doing back then!! On a side note, Viz used two different phrases at the end. Killua says "He's so... experienced!!" instead of "He's a grown-up", and Gon calls the ladies he went out with "Cougars" instead of "Fanatics". Happy Gon is happy! -------------------- Spoiler for Part 2: Spoiler for An answer to my question from the previous episode: So the monster is still there, but looks like you need gyo to see it. --- Spoiler for More manga censorship: So in the first run of the manga, the hands were censored using solid black squares, but they removed that in the reprint. The fingers on Cheetu's palm however were not totally uncensored. In the first run it was a solid black square and the reprint used a dark screentone. Now some of you might ask yourselves: "Self, didn't I see that panel uncensored somewhere?" Well, to answer this confusion is this: The fingers were censored in all printed versions (magazine and volumes), but from what I could tell, the scanlators edited the panel to remove the tone. And since the reprint used the screentone, it's not that difficult to do you are good in photo editing. But you can notice the edit because the outlines around that area are thicker than the rest of the drawing. Hope that cleared something for you. Now in the anime we see the hands in a fuzzy black & white point of view and we do see Cheetu eat the fingers, but we don't see them on his palm. --- Spoiler for Gon after shower: To be honest the first time I saw that panel I did not recognize him! Umm, is Killua reading JoJo's Bizarre Adventures?! Spoiler for Behold: The magic of makeup!! Ditto!! Spoiler for Where's Killua: The arrows were present in the manga as well Look forward to the next episode. ------------------- This episode was one that I've eager to watch animated just to see how the censored parts would be handled. It wasn't bad though. 8.5/10 So next week there's no episode, right? But hey if there's a break I'm a happy guy!!
