...seeing everyone appearing in their ALO avatar at the end really makes me wish the story had made them join Kirito on his quest to save Asuna...
...maybe the story would be a little different...but just thinking of one person from each fairy race teaming up not to beat the ALO game but to finish the SAO story would be great even if everyone ends up losing to Sugou... ...speaking of Sugou...during the scene when Kirito was thinking of killing him and Sugou went screaming like a retard...did he just piss his pants? ...i think right after that you see some steam or something... ...and good for Kirito remaining sane, knowing the difference between virtual/reality and didnt slash Sugou's throat... ...because killing does not solve anything...if anything just use that knife to stab both Sugou's palms and thighs...and while your at it...rip off that infected eye he had since it appears to be useless anyways...but thats just the crazy me talking... ...in the end it was a fun ride...enjoyed it...looking forward to GGO or whatevers next... |

Good ending, maybe even better to what I imagined it would be from reading the novels. They left some stuff out again but from what I remember they weren't that important anyway. Overall it was a pretty good adaptation of the light novels, but if they do make another season I hope they change directors.

There's a reason and an explanation for that.
The reason? This anime is marketed towards the stereotypical "mai pure waifu" anime fans. Said fans would object heavily and likely rabidly towards a starved, malnourished Asuna. The explanation? Sugou takes really, really good care of his "possessions." |

While I enjoyed the series as a whole, Kirito has to be the single dumbest protagonist I have ever seen. Ah yeah, I just finished a knife fight with a deranged psychopath, so now I'm gonna let him live THEN DROP THE KNIFE AT HIS FEET AND TURN MY BACK ON HIM. Fucking really??

Well, as long as he survives in the virtual world, Kirito will always have an escape route. He can probably give Kirito GM powers at will no matter what level.

Not saying it's impossible, but it'll be hard to pull it off without disappointing many. EDIT: But it's probably already been done. Others are commenting that the next few arcs are actually even better. Keeping my fingers crossed for a season 2...and 3...and perhaps moar!! |

So, it's finally over.
I have mixed feelings regards SAO. I was introduced to the series over a year ago by a friend, who'd become captivated by the story. Put off reading until May, when I got my iPad... and then I couldn't stop reading. It was engaging, the world and setting caught my interest, and I liked the characters. In the aftermath of the show, after all is said and done, I think this was the best possible adaptation A-1 could have done, and I'm quite heartened to hear that they'll do a second series in 2014 - which means that there will be enough time to wrap up the final arcs of the LNs and get the story ready. That will also mean I get more tempbans for being too enthusiastic, but meh, that's life, and no permanent hard feelings, relentless. As for the end, I'm quite glad to see all the survivors reuniting, and also Kirito and Sugu dancing in the air, and coming to terms with their issues. (As an aside, this is also one of the few times when I don't want the winmouto to win over the official couple. Funny.) Final thoughts: Was it perfect? No. Was it the best possible adaptation? Probably. And the most important question: Was I entertained? The answer to that is a resounding YES. I'm glad that the resolution came, but I am sorry that this series is no longer airing. Such is the way of all things; seasons pass and all things fade away. Quote:
Also, I rather like their school uniform. It's pretty sharp. Also, Sugu's winter uniform looks a lot more striking with that red blazer and skirt, compared to the earlier beige on green.

Without a doubt, this is one of the best anime title's I've seen in a while as far as adaptations.
The last anime titles I've seen that're just as great for adaptations were: Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora (Looking Up at the Half-Moon) ef; a tale of memories/melodies Steins;Gate Future Diary Even though this particular episode gave the sense of an actual ending, there's still actually more in the series. And the Light Novels are still ongoing. So, with that... [Puts on Reading Glasses] Time to continue with the Light Novels. |

In the end, it was the best show of the year. Everyone remembers "Star burst stream!" Kirito swooned all the bitches but still stayed faithful to his true love. The ending couldn't be better. It ended a lot of loose ends and left a big one on how they will take the next step. If you look at the view counts of this show, it shattered the viewing of all the other anime of the year. If A-1 doesn't follow up with a movie or a season 2, by summer, then they are Tarded.
