Klashikari was the one said 'bland', I said 'nice' Surprisingly, gameplay seems to be a very big factor in popularity I'll bet that's why Rita was the Number One girl

I'm sure it helps, but I wouldn't say it's a huge factor. Look at Flynn. He's only playable for maybe a third of PS3 Vesperia, yet he got #16 overall. It seems characterization from skits and story impact has more importance. Just look at Judith. I'd assume she'd be relatively popular, and she's playable for like 80-90% of Vesperia, and she didnt' even place. Same for Patty. While Patty got some great characterization from skits, neither of them had any real importance to the story (beyond Judith's initial introduction, she was basically a tour guide of the beast-spirit things).

Of course all this is baseless theory so take it as you will I think, Flynn's popularity shot up from the Vesperia Movie...

Never thought Jude would rank that high, even the seiyuu of Xillia don't like Jude (they jokingly attributed it to knowing the person behind the character though ). Top three is just meh, I was hoping Milla might break at least the top 3, but no luck this time it seems ><

First thing in my mind when I saw that tagline was hoping it referred to Jude x Milla, as much as that tagline would break his characterisation from Xillia itself.

Some more info came out on the two characters:
Ludgar Will Kresnik: (again, romanization is not yet official) is 20 years old and is a normal young man who's currently living with his older brother. He's good at housework and is an excellent cook. Elle Mel Martha: has a quote in the magazine that says she needs to go to the "Land of Canaan" to help her father. She's a level-headed and lively little girl who went on a journey to fulfill her wish of going to Canaan. She hates tomatoes. Lulu is Ludgar's pudgy yet active cat who doesn't shy away from strangers. Lulu might even be the boss of the neighboring cats (what). In the game's reveal, they showed us that making choices is a major feature of the game. The magazine apparently gives a funny example of one of the choices Ludgar has to make for Elle about her hate for tomatoes: (Ah! Elle hates tomatoes!) L1: "I wouldn't say I like or dislike them, but they are tasty." R1: "Got it. I won't put tomatoes in it, then." Source

It'll probably end up being Rudgar. It seems to be more thematic based on various name meanings, and it seems to be how characters pronounce it in the trailer (then again, can't 100% go by how a character pronounces someone's name).

I'm starting to wonder if this game is really going to make it for its intended November release. We've seen very few updates here or on the homepgae for the game.
