Summer 2011: Your Expectations and Anticipated Series

For me:

Must see:
- Appleseed, Always interested in its world and background settings

- Kami-sama no Memo-chou, not really interested in Gosick because of some of its "silly" tricks but after read through chapter 1 of Kami Memo manga, I will give this a chance.

- Itsuka Tenma, both the light novel and manga are pretty good so I did get excited when this series has its anime version.

- Ro-kyu-bu: watch because of pure moe ^^

Checking list:
- No.6, considering it's from BONES (Rahxephon, Darker than Black, Wolf's Rain) although their recent series didn't get much of my attention (Star Driver, Gosick).

- R-15, the introduction seems interesting (honestly, main char is a porn writer!?) so I will see through the first few episodes to decide.

Also some other OVAs like Valkyrie Chronicles and Hellsing.

Pretty lacking so far, but I'm sure more stuff will be added sooner or later since it's still early. Might as well make a preliminary list.

Not much for series I find interesting this summer I guess. Though are Yuru Yuri and Working 2nd really suppose to be this season?, I can't find anything suggesting either will air in the summer.[Would be great if they actually were ]

Definitely watching Blood-C, maybe Sacred Seven, and possibly NO.6 if Bones has recovered from their last two mediocre projects.

Well for me as usual theres loads of stuff I want to see but trying to find time to watch has become harder.

For anime series I doubt I'd get time for many but I'm most def be keeping with Usagi Drop and Baka Test.
Anything else if time allows to me to watch would be Appleseed, Blood-C and Ro-Kyu-Bu!(I get the feeling I'll actually just love this one)

I will probably have a look at almost all the OVA, etc.
Fairy Tail, Valkyria Chronicles 3 and Kore Zombie will be must watch.

For films, Sengoku Basara and Sora Otoshi is a must, the rest will have to wait and see.

p.s is Moretsu Pirates actually scheduled for the summer?
If so that will probably be a must watch for me

I cannot wait for more Higurashi! By far one of my favorite series.

Enjoyed the Itsuka Tenma no Kuro-Usagi novel, so I'll have to watch that too.

funny that this is deemed as a blatant copy of Gosick. in last year's ranking for "this light novel is amazing", Kami-Memo came in numbered 10. While Gosick is nowhere to be seen in the 60 slots. Even my beloved Daiden and Itsuten were ranked

It WAS on hiatus up until the anime came out and the author decide to return to Gosick...(Just look at Haruhi, much more popular and not on Top 40 either). Although the #10 ranking for Kami-Memo surprised even a reader of the novel in me...(But then, Haganai is #2, and as much as I love that novel, that's a even bigger surprise...)

Ro-kyu-bu: Just b/c it's pure moe and HanaKana is voicing the lead...
BakaTest 2: 1st Season being the only anime that season that's good, at least it's not the case this season, doesn't mean I'll stop watching it

End result? Yeah, another season I'll just start with LN adaptation and move forward from there...

While you can't watch other series like Blood-C, Sacred Seven or No.6 because you find that the plot is no interesting or just the whole season ?

I agree with you on both points. Since the sales figures are not cumulative, and are year on year. Given that there are a number of major LN publishers and many hits, 60 slots is small; once you're on hiatus, it's hard to get in the ranks. What I was pointing out was merely the misconception on Kami-Memo being a clone, which could spread like wildfire if not curbed . Besides, throughout history, it's not uncommon to find a few people in different parts of the world, getting inspired by similar ideas without any knowledge about the other person. Makes one wonder about the universe...

And I thought the hiatus was due to the transfer from Fujimi to Kadokawa? And there's no doubt that Haruhi will be in the ranks next year (possibly no. 1), given the number of pre-orders, one of which belongs to me

I'll be watching Nurarihyon S2, with caution though because S1 staled out in the end. Also, the first episode of Blade, because it's very hard to keep watching any of the Marvel-mixed series, aaand...maybe test No.6 or sacred seven.

Nah, the author simply move on from Light Novels to Mainstream Novels, and basically "abandon" GOSICK until it's animated, in which the author return to write a new volume...

People just thought "Loli / Moe Detective" and start saying it's copycat, when the setting of the two are totally different...sigh...

I miss R-15, while the other two I haven't heard of (Just b/c I tend to watch LN adaptations doesn't mean I have read each and every LN out there...there are like hundreds, if not thousands, of them...)

Well assuming this is another 2 cour season... if anything Mago S2 will have excellent pace (compared to season 1) since they will have to rush through so many chapters to animate the entirety of the Tokyo/Gitsune arc.

Hopefully, with the anime out, we'll get translators to work on it and help EusthEnoptEron out. And Kami-sama as well

Watched Last Exile the last time. The ending was a little disappointing, but I want to give it another shot, so this is a must watch for me.

HnG movie and Higurashi, must get.
