I have read a manga about strange guy (Bad Boy Loves Tea), who has monstrously scary face, and by changing his hair, he gone from looking like a yankee (not Americans, but young delinquent) to looking like a seasonal Yakuza.

Hilarious idea: what if I.S. are creatures ala Monster Rancher/Pokemon, with the I.S. core standing up for a Monster disc, and can be summoned a whole from it (it's being analogue of both egg and a corpse).

However, someone managed to find a technomagic (yes, Tabane) to turn I.S. into a powerful power armor... and thus the reign of female feudal government because the ritual only affect human female.

And Ichika just want to be a normal guy, until he touch an untapped I.S. core and...

I'm trying to properly put together the scene where Gentarou is hard-pressed to explain himself to practically naked girls why he stepped out of a locker and into a girl's shower room as if it was the most natural thing in the world. They are trying to imprint him with the fact they are IS pilots and he's either playing tough or an utter bonehead for peeking on them knowing this. Thing is... Gentarou doesn't have any idea what an IS is.

awkwardness ensues I take it?

Note that Armor-type I.S. doesn't always translate to uber curbstomp, just some increase in power and human being intelligent enough to maximize the potential. Weak I.S. is weak, strong I.S. is strong.

Some I.S. tamer is good enough to beat one with a normal I.S. using proper teamwork (and equalizers), or hell, some I.S. are equivalent of gods or demons (exaggeration but understandable), moping the soil with the female knights, and damn near impossible to tame (they 'choose' their master, per usual). Other times, infantry can just overwhelm the knights with Equalizers...

Yes, Equalizer also a lesser creature, and unlike I.S., their properties as tool has been considered far before I.S. armor did, it's just that Equalizer become much stronger (and somehow grew larger) when paired with I.S. armor.

It's made tougher by the fact that Gentarou is pretty much a kid when it comes to these things. Second year highschool nothing, when face to face with a girl who tells him to strip while she's stripping. He's all. "Umm... yeah... uh... what?"

And yes, the dynamic is like that. Equalizer > Stratos > Infinite Stratos.

Equalizer, everyone has them (hence the name). Stratos, slightly rarer, and is considered elite pet (like say, your Persian Cat). Infinite Stratos, more often than not is owned by royal family, and is considered sacred beast or something.

Of course, there's always Rare Equalizer like Chifuyu's near-extinct Yukihira, and Ichika's one of a kind (due to mutation) Setsura, both are originated from 'Land of eternal Ice' (read: poles)

So he is far denser than Ichika, though mostly about sexuality (Ichika is very conscious about this contrary to most people's belief). Can I compare him to Takuto from Star Driver

But with the way he sealed Setsura just before the race, it was a few moments too late for the shield to deploy. He had been saved, but Setsura would not be functional for the rest of the skirmish. “Damn.”, Ichika cursed to himself. Considering his history with events, he should have considered outside interference... again.
